May 2011
Nolan's first trip to the San Diego Zoo. We went with some of our favorite friends, the Armstrong's and had such a blast.

Solvang June 2011
Earlier in June my Mom came for a visit and we had such a great time. We went up to Solvang for a little getaway and had such a fun time. Solvang is a darling little Danish town in the Santa Ynez Valley. We walked around the shops and enjoyed ourselves a bit too much with the pastries and aebleskivers.
All in all it was a great little getaway except for some crazy experiences at our Hotel. I was trying to get Nolan down for the night so we had turned off the lights but he just really wasn't interested in sleep. So we turned the lights back on and a few minutes later noticed a giant spider on the wall. I'm not talking about just a little one...it was huge! So Tyler called the front desk because he didn't want to kill and I don't blame him. When the guy from the hotel came he was kind of looking at us like "ok where's the spider you're calling the front desk about?" and then he saw it and was terrified. He said, "I don't think I can get that, why don't we get you a new room?", so we agreed. When he walked out the door we could hear him down the hall freaking out because he was so afraid! I think it must have been a brown recluse...it was so creepy. So we changed rooms and started getting all settled again as I was washing my hands, I could heard the shower in the next room go on and all the sudden I could hear this bubbling coming from the bath time. I walked in to find sewage coming up the bathtub drain...unbelievable. The stench was horrendous. So we call the front desk and no answer so I walked out our door and started for the front desk and I ran into the spider guy, when I told him what was happening he couldn't believe it. He walked into our room, took one whiff and said "let me get you another room". It was the most unbelievable experience ever. The staff was overall very accommodating and wonderful, they offered us their suite and would have comped our room but I booked it through Priceline and so they can't! Lesson learned, get the price off priceline and call the hotel to book it next time.

The First Four Months...
I've been a total blog-slacker as of late. I really need to be better because this is all the documenting I'm doing. So, I'll just lay it all out there. Here goes...
Christmas 2010 in Utah

{Camilynne Photography...Thank you, they're amazing!}

The little "Noli Bear" as his cousins called him...trying to keep warm. It was super cold while we were in Utah for Christmas.
January 2011 First trip to The Wild Animal Park in San Diego. He pretty much slept through the entire day of fun.
Valentines 2011
February 2011 Ready for Church. He loves being in the Primary with me. He loves to watch the kids and especially loves listening to them sing.
The end of February Nolan came down with a bad case of RSV & bronchiolitis. He eventually had to be hospitalized. He was there for 3 days. He did well and was definitely the healthiest little one there. It did give us quite a scare though. We are so grateful for a healthy & happy little boy.
March Madness 2011 We had so much fun watching BYU get to the sweet 16. Nolan even told us he wants to be just like Jimmer when he grows up.
Nolan and I went to Utah to visit family while Tyler was out of town. On one of our marathon trips to Target Nolan fell asleep with his bottle. It was adorable.
April 2011 Sunday Night Skyping. Skype has been such an amazing way for us to keep in touch with the grandparents. It is so nice for them to be able to see him growing up.
Four month stats: 17 lbs (88%) 28 1/4 inches (<100%)
He is a big boy. The Dr said he is the height of the average 1 year old. He is the greatest joy in our lives. He is a very sweet and happy boy. We just can't get enough. It is so amazing how our lives are blessed beyond our wildest dreams. Promise to be better about blogging!

Welcome Baby Nolan..

He's finally here...just a 10 day delay and it's no wonder I wanted to die from discomfort. Nolan Robert was born on Tuesday, November 23rd at 3:48 pm. 9 lbs, 9 oz, and 22 in long. We couldn't be happier. He is a great baby and we are all doing well. Thanks for all the love & support.
{But not really since it was around his neck when he came out and Dr had to quickly cut it!}

Getting ready to go home. Too bad the Newborn outfit I brought for him to wear home was too small and luckily a friend had brought another outfit to the hospital as a gift that he was able to wear home. Such a yummy little guy...if I do say so myself.

Come and gone...
So the due date has come and gone. I went to the Dr today and it wasn't too promising. No significant progress in the last week. So it's just a waiting game. I'm now taking suggestions for labor induction secrets. If nothing else my Dr will induce me next Tuesday...right in time for Thanksgiving. I guess that's what you get when you yourself were 2 1/2 weeks late and decided to come on Christmas. {Sorry Mom}

Baby Baird's Nautical Shower
My amazing friends Kari and Lucero put together this darling Nautical shower here in California. It was a perfect night, poolside, with amazing food and great company. They really thought of so many little details...it was so fun. After I left that night I started tearing up thinking about how grateful I am to have made such great friends here. I couldn't believe that they did so much for me, it really meant a lot. Thank you so much!
