Coulson's Farewell

Coulson is heading to Texas! He will serve in San Antonio from July 2017-July 2019. Of course we will miss him while he's gone, but we know he is going to have such a wonderful experience! Coulson is the first of all of these cousins to leave for his mission. He is setting such a grand example of service and sacrifice.
Texas here he comes!

It was so fun to be able to head up to Utah to say goodbye to Coulson. He is loved by all of his cousins.
One of the mornings we were there, I took this crew for an early morning walk. We found a park with some sprinklers. They came home soaked and grinning from ear to ear.
Loren helped Coulson organize his room and store everything away for two years. Thank heavens for Loren's energy. He knows how to get things done.
My mom and I took a few kids on a short little road trip. Coulson showed us a few cool spots.

I may or may not have let two 13-year-olds drive my car.

He couldn't wipe that grin off his face.
After our road trip we stopped for fritters.
Friday night Anthony, my mom, Aunt Debbie, Sarah and Kate and I went to the Pioneer Day Celebration with the MoTab and Alex Boyé. It was phenomenal. You can see the whole concert here.

We had a great time.

Saturday we were all surprised to see Sam and Kaylee walk through the door!  They brought Reese, Micah and their new little week-old baby to meet the Harris family.
Coulson was especially grateful he could meet little Zoey before he left.
Levi is very, very fond of Zoey.
I love pictures like this. So many adorable kids.
Saturday night my mom told the Red Shawl story. It is her favorite pioneer story. It's a good one. You can read about it here.
Here are a few videos of the weekend mixed together. Everyone had a great time as always.

Jude and Zoey. My little boys would hold this girl all day long if they were allowed. So sweet.

Sunday morning Coulson was assigned to speak in church. He did a wonderful job talking about service and loving one another. He is going to make a great missionary!

9 a.m. church is usually not nap time for my boys. But, they were TOAST. It had been a long few days! Poor little guys.

After church Ann had a luncheon for the family and some of Coulson's friends.

These future missionaries are a handsome bunch.
It was so nice of Vanessa to come. I only have three girl cousins. She is the oldest of the three. She is a sweet woman who loves her family. She is always so supportive. Here she is with Anthony, Katherine and Loren.
My cousin Todd and his beautiful wife Downy come to say goodbye to Coulson as well. I just love these two. You'd be hard pressed to find two kinder people.
Loren on kitchen patrol.
 The desserts.
What a cute menu board. Everything was so delicious.
Everyone wanted more Zoey time.

Jude loooves Tyler's dad. I mean, who doesn't? We all love grandpa Mike.
Torie made it just in time to see everyone before we packed up the car and headed home. It was so good to see her. Torie is the oldest of all the cousins. She takes that role very seriously and loves this crew so much.
Everyone saying their final goodbyes to Elder Harris.
Bradley and Coulson. Coulson has been Bradley's best friend since he was born. Bradley is going to miss him so much.
Coulson and Jamison
Coulson and Conley
Bradley, Coulson and me

This will be the picture we measure any growth against after two years. Bradley has his sites set on passing Coulson up. Good luck with that Bear.

 Anthony and Coulson
Levi and Coulson
 Levi was sad.
Jamison was sad too but smiled through it.
Grandma was the most sad. She had a hard time saying goodbye.

 My beautiful niece Torie.
Kate, Torie, Coulson, Sarah and Jamison.
Best of luck to you Coulson. We will see you in 2 short years.
