PURPOSEFUL PINS: Textured Triptych

Purposeful Pins is in effect!

This was a simple project and only took 3 days…mainly because I needed it to dry!
(First, I put plastic wrap on my table for easy clean up.)

Texture:
I lined up the three canvases. Plopped a good amount of joint compound on the canvases and worked a nice layer over them. Once covered, I took the smaller palette knife and worked from the center out in a radial pattern; gradually getting larger. I cleaned up the edges and let them dry.  Because of the crazy weather, the mix of cold air and hot heater, it made the jc dry a little too fast; causing it to crack in the thicker places. I didn't mind it though…I thought it went well with the style of the painting.

Painting:
Once the jc was dry; I prepped my table with plastic wrap again. I started lightest to darkest and then blended back and forth.  I painted a thin layer of black and let it dry.  I went over the black with the metallic bronze. I let it dry over night (though it didn't need it)

Hanging the triptych:
Using the center panel I placed it where I would like for it to be and marked the top with a pencil.  I took the level and drew a line and measured where the push pins (2 each panel) should go and bam!

I'm very happy with the results and so was my husband!

Happy Creating!
