in less than a days time, i will be onboard a C-130 heading towards thailand for exercise cope tiger 08... everything is packed and im all ready to go although i dun feel like going... booking in tonight as we will be going to paya lebar airbase from camp... gonna be a damn early day tomorrow for us... have to wake up at 4 plus and be on the bus at around 5 and reach PLAB at 6...
hope to have a safe trip there and that nothing major is going to happen there and let me come back in one piece to enjoy my cny... so bye peeps and take care... will be back on the 4th of feb...

lm leaving not on a jet plane but on a C-130 in 2 days time... for those who dunno how a C-130 look like, click here... and im coming back from thailand on the 4th of feb on a Fokker F-50... so i can be considered one of the lucky few NSFs to have to chance to experience a ride in 2 of the aircrafts in the singapore air force... and its gonna be one hell of a experience i think as the ride from here to thailand is going to take 4 hours!!! and its damn boring on the plane, no games to movies to watch, no pretty air stewardess, no nice cushion seats and you wont be able to sleep well coz the sound of the engine is too loud!!!
dunno why im not really eager to go for this exercise although this cope tiger exercise gonna be a major one which involves singapore, thailand and the united stated... as compared to the concluded K3 live firing, im really not that keen... maybe becoz its all about the results this time round... seriously when i heard the obejctives set for us by our OC, i was very upset... 100% splashes on all targets... say until its very easy... its gonna be a new experience for us seeing new flight profiles and aircarfts which we have nvr previously encounted and he expect us to achieve perfect record... not that i dun wan to achieve it but at least set a realistic one... so whats gonna happen if we dun achieve it??? cancel our nights out??? cancel our live day??? throw us in for every exercise even though we are the senior platoon??? i have no idea but you can be sure our heads will be on the chopping board if we juz let one miserly aircraft slip through our radar... thats always the case isn't it... our heads are easier to offer to the people at the top than your i guess...
now u can see why im not really keen on going... all these is dampening our spirits and add to the fact that our overseas allowance is being eaten up... well, i hope that everything turns out well of course since our platoon pride is at stake... i vow to track down every single flyboy out there to show to everyone that we are not the Best Firing Unit just in name only...

a new skin for a new year... a new year means a new beginning... Happy New Year everyone!!!
the skin design wasn't really my idea... got the concept from another blogskin and decided to modify it... refer to credits for the original designer...
watched alien vs predator 2 already... not exactly as good as the hype surrounding it... like most movie nowadays, the ending was rushed through... story also wasn't very good... it was gory no doubt but i guess thats the only thing worth seeing...
well, 2007 has come to an end... time to look forward to the new year... 2007 was a so called boring year for me... life in NS is as such... pretty much been doing the same thing for the entire year... the 1st quarter was our adwo course phrase... that phrase was quite a testing phrase for me as it really tested my mental and physical strength... well, glad that i manage to pass out form that course even getting 2nd best among the FCE operators... the highlight of the year definitely has to be Exercise Kujarra III @ Woomera, Australia... it was my 1st overseas training trip and i truly enjoyed the experience there... and the best thing of it all was that we came back with the best firing unit tag... that definitely was the highlight of my 2007... another note was that i finally turned 21 in may... now that im an adult, its time to really plan for my future and hold responsibility for my own future...
i personally hope 2008 will be a good year for me... plenty of things to look forward to... 1 thing for certain is the 3 magical alphabet that means so much to all NSFs... also there is exercise cope tiger @ thailand coming in another 21 days time... and there is the taiwan trip that i hope to go but with which grp of frens i have yet to decide... also, i have to start deciding what i want to do after i get out from uncle's army... study or work, still to decide... so my resolutions for the next year are as follows,
1. O.R.D
2. IPPT silver
3. Lose more weight
4. Get my future sorted out
5. Live my life to the fullest
and anywhere, today have to book in already... my block leave finally come to an end... argh!! that's like damn fast... back to the mundane squadron life again...
