Melbourne Laneway Art

Other than Brisbane, the other place I visited was Melbourne.

Melbourne is a city planned. The roads make perfect sense, everything is in a square.
My colleague said she found Melbourne to be totally boring. There're no twists and turns to discover, as everything is so straightforward.

I beg to differ, as I found a little pamphlet on discovering Melbourne's City Laneways.
My favorite part? The art, of course!

Graffiti art, that is.

I miss Australia.

Spring Summer Hot. Glaring Flora.

Floral's back. But not in the usual way.

Pretty in pink is over, and bold clashing colours are in now.

Mix red and yellow, green and purple, blue and maroon.
Go wild with creativity.

Tribute to Alexander McQueen. RIP.

Lee Alexander McQueen died. Committed suicide.

Fashion world is not worth living.
For at least 24 hours anyway.

And here's some graphics to remember him by. And to educate those of you who have never heard of him, or experienced his visual brilliance.

I managed to rip this off the official Alexander McQueen website WHILE they were in the midst of shutting it down.

Look at the stark colours. McQueen was known for his rebeliousness and avant garde creativity.

And you can see for yourself his brilliant weirdness he brings to his fashion shows.

We'll miss you Lee McQueen. Such a terrible waste of life and talent.

Brisbane: The Contemporary Art Museum

People in Australia celebrate art. Of any form.

Since I left Brissy 5 years ago, few things have changed. One of them is the new Contemporary Arts Museum built next to the Arts Museum at Southbank (I know, like, wtf right?)

Anyhow, it was the one place I absolutely HAD to visit the moment I landed in Brissy.

I followed the tour guide, and had a blast of a time.

The lady in black and grey is the tour guide, and the rest are random ppl who joined the group.

A volcano of crockery, and an old motorbike with a touch of Midas.
I wish I could take the crockery home.
The Other Thing. No really, that's its name.
Made from silver ware handles.

Wall of mirrors.
Ah ah no touching.
Mushrooms painted with Mandarin words, depicting the poem of Buddha.
A glass bubble antler. My favorite item of the lot.
Stickers!
Becoming a sideways Buddha.
Little rich Chinese men.
Chinese exhibit.
Korean painting exhibit.
The flames look so REAL right??
A room full of string. Yes, string.
Peekaboo.

Line flow.
All APJ featured artists.

I loved every part of it.

slutty thigh-high trend

I've landed in Brisbane and am patting my back on my decision to bring my laptop and staying connected with the internet.

But before I show you the luurrrvvveeelllyyy pics I've taken, I absolutely need to tell you of the fashion trend now/ coming up (you know how Malaysia takes a while to catch up, if never sometimes. =p)
Slut.
Yes. You read right.
The slut look is coming back.

Fine, a nicer way to put it would be retro, I suppose.
Cropped tops. Ultra mini skirts. Body suits. Floppy artisan hats covering long, not very interesting looking hair.

Today I shall focus on thigh high boots.

Pics from Digital Darkroom.

Only for the bold. Daring. And skinny yet curvy thigh-ed people. Sigh.

And if boots are a bit more difficult to pull off for ya, try thigh high socks instead. Like Fashion Toast here.

Also cheaper and easier to chuck when the fashion trend wears off.

Très belle non?

Pre-Australia. White. Rands.

I'm leaving for Australia tomorrow evening!

Sorry the slack in updates...
But hey! I'll be bringing my lappie for THIS trip, since its a whole two weeks.

So just to leave my post with some pics... Here's some white shots I took one day when I was bored.

Yes, I do like white. A lot. =)

And some random shots.

Korean bear necklace. Most awesumest burger which April intro-ed to me. And me and my friend at her boutique in Jaya One.

Bear neckie is supposed to be a burfdae gift for Haze of BlushBerry, but someone FFK me hor!

The outfit I'm wearing is one of my standard work clothes. Black top with a hip hugging skirt from Cotton On. Cheeeaaaappppp!! Cotton On rox my sox.

See you from Australia.
