You say yeah or yep every time we ask  you a question

You love playing under Carson's bed in the 'fort'

You know lots of animal sounds: cat, dog, duck, bird, cow, frog, tiger, lion, horse, sheep, pig, monkey

You say awe and 'cause a lot. 

When you drop something, you say, "uh oh, spill"

When we ask you how much you love us, you hold your arms out and say 'this much'

You say, "I love you" back when we say it to you

You love your new cups with a straw

You can open up the pantry doors

You know the heart shape

You can entertain yourself pretty good with your toys

You love to play on your iPad

Dear Sarah,

You have been so fun this month. Your communication skills have just blossomed this month. It is so nice to be able to talk to you. It is the sweet thing in the whole wide world to hear you pray. Your love for animals just keeps growing. Maybe one day you can have a kitty! We love you so much sweet girl.

All About You:

• You like to watch "dogs" and "mouse" on tv. Those shows are Paw Patrol and Mickey Mouse
• You have tried a few new foods and like them. Blueberries, cherry tomatoes and strawberries.
• You will sometimes drink milk. You LOVE smoothies.
• You love to look outside the window to see if we have any bunnies in the yard.
• You love to look for birds.
• You love for me to sing "Star" or "Jesus" to you when we rock. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Jesus Loves Me.
• You love to be wrapped up in a blanket when we rock and you have started sleeping with a blanket.
• When you toot, you say excuse me.
• You figured out how to climb up onto Carson's bed.
• You are getting better with eating with a spoon.
• You can be a little stinker sometimes, so we have started time out with you.
• You loved going on an egg hunt and looking for eggs. You had quite a few in your basket.
• You painted an egg at The Painted Pig. You had fun, it was very messy!

You have changed so much since last Easter. You are busy, busy and love to be right next to me all the time. You are definitely becoming a daddy's girl.  I went out of town for one night and when I came back home all you wanted was your daddy. I was a little sad that it seemed like you didn't even miss me, but I love seeing you with your daddy. You are so special and we love you so much.

Do you have any weeds in your life?

This afternoon, Carson wanted to help me plant some flowers that I had gotten earlier today. 

The weeds by our mailbox were getting out of hand and it looked so ugly. While we were getting the soil ready for the new plants I told him that we all have weeds in our heart. Weeds being sin. 

 I asked him if it was easy to get all the weeds out. He said, "no, it is hard." I explained that the weeds in our heart are hard to get rid of too because we are sinners and we keep sinning.

 After all the weeds were pulled up we had nice, clean dirt. I told him that if we ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins then our hearts look clean like the dirt.  

We saw lots of worms and rolly pollies in the dirt. I told him that they are there for a reason. They help make really good dirt. I asked him if he had any worms or rolly pollies in his life. He looked up at me with a confused look on his face. I told him that his parents, and his teachers were like the worms and rolly pollies. We are here to love you and guide you so you make good choices so your heart can be strong. 

We planted the flowers and I asked him what the flowers needed in order to grow. He quickly told me, "water and sun." I said,"Yes. Just like our hearts need Jesus in order to grow." 

 Hopefully, I was able to plant a little seed in his heart today. My analogies may not make the most sense and I am sure there were a thousand of other ways to try and explain this to him, but I hope he remembers something from us planting our flowers together today. If nothing more,  I enjoyed getting to spend some time with him this afternoon! 

Canning

 It is something that I have wanted to learn how to do, but just never got around to it, until this past week. I try not to buy too many store bought canned goods and wanted a different alternative. My mother -n- law graciously offered to teach my how. It was a fun learning process and I think I could do it again by myself...

We had the supplies for water bath canning. I learned that all canning is not the same. There are a couple of different methods and depending on what you are wanting to can determines what method you use.

We decided to go with green beans because they were pretty easy.

 After we washed and trimmed the green beans we then cut them into smaller pieces.

We let them cook for about 10 minutes.

Now, Matt wants me to learn how to make his momma's pickles! 

I hear it is quite a process, but well worth it! 

This morning consisted of playing and cleaning up a bit. Then after lunch, we had a fun errands to run. Needless to say, mommy's shopping took a little longer than I thought, so by the time we got home it was past nap time. Kids were getting bored and cranky so I had this bright idea of painting....outside. It was fun.....

 This was Sarah Grace's first time to paint..She wasn't too sure what to do.

She didn't last near as long as I thought she would. Ten minutes, maybe??? So, I think next time we will leave the painting to Carson, inside. It was a mess to clean up!!!

The weather has been nice lately and you love to play outside.

You fell going down the driveway and scraped both your knees. You tell us about your bo all the time and point to your knees.

You love to do flips.

We got lots of snow this month and you have really enjoyed playing in it. You love to put it in bowls and stir and eat it too!

We put you in the big bath tub and turned on the jets. You HATED it!

You are really good at blowing your nose.

You haven't been the best eater for me this month.

You think you are so big and want to do EVERYTHING your big brother does.

You love stickers.

We played with baby Turner one day and you held him. You loved finding his eyes, ears, nose and mouth. When I took him away, you were not very happy. You wanted to keep holding him.

Sarah Grace,

I love you so much. You are no longer my little baby, but instead a busy little toddler. I can't believe in just a few months we will be celebrating you turning two! I am so glad you still want me to rock you to sleep. You are so special and I hope you will always know how much you are loved.
