[#5] 02/06/2002-08/06/2002 Ah Qing was 16 yrs old.
It was really a great experience to tour China again with a big grp of ppl ( ard 80). Well, went with my sec sch's CO to Fujian Province for a concert cum tour lah. Some of my pals didnt go but this time round, my CelloBass gang folks were with me ( my juniors basically). Thanks alot guys, you had made this trip a memorable one! hehe!
Reached Xiamen after my 4 hrs plus flight with Air China. On the whole the flight was alright..the plane was kinda old to me...and the food sux. I could only complain about that lah..though dont have inflight entertainment service, I was not really that bored. haha! Actually i remembered i was praying hard when the plane started to fly, thanks to the 911 incident. hahaha! Xiamen airport was kinda small, but a pleasant one. Didnt have much chance to look around anyway, we hopped into the bus and travelled to Quan Zhou. pathetic 5 hrs..gosh. PY and me kenna seperated frm the CB gang..coz we were the seniors..lolz! ya..the seniors took the small bus with the teachers & parents lah...song bo? lucky we gotta watch videos on the way, or else bored to death. hahaha! think the rest was not so lucky lah! hehehe! China's expressway was really "empty" lah...besides the road u can only see the sceneries..hardly any trees. haha!
stopped by at a little mart to buy stuffs. Haiz..when we reached..the souls from the other 2 buses had already chiong into the mart and grabbed the stuffs! damn it! lolz! alright..the mart was pathetic when i reached lah..nearly emptied by us?! hahaha! nothing much left for us anyway, most of them bought bottles of soft drinks & cup noodles. think the mart had a great day ya? hahaha!
Finally, reached the hotel lah. along the way, Quan Zhou really dont looked like a city to me. Little modernised buildings plus there was only a main road ba? It was located at a mountainous area...the whole scene i got really doesnt fit into the "city" category. We had a very warm welcome at the hotel...got TV crew to film us leh?! lolz...we were superstars ah? The hotel main door had this red cloth hanged up there to welcome us...really shiok sia!!! Felt so dua pai..hehe!
Went to visit a vocational school after that...attracted a big crowd. think we went to see a performance, and some of us were invited up on stage. lolz! the china ppl were very friendly wor? waved to us when we were leaving the place...song! Watched the news on the tv, saw our pals on the tv! hahaha! ok lah..think the whole grp was excited lah..imagined we were on tv?!
Had our little concert the next day, basically the cellos were giving me big probs! haiz..hate tuning them..and scared the strings snapped. haiz...it was really ma fan to carry the instruments here and there...and i was the only senior frm CB..haiz. My only regret was i didnt get the photos for the concert..haiz!
Visited the 海外交通史博物馆，清源山老君岩 & the pagodas ( forgot the name). Then at night, we took 6 hrs train ride to 武夷山. it was one of the 四大名山. hehe! Anyway, our grp booked the first class seats lah..but not all of us can fit in..coz too many ppl. so some of us gotta sacrificed. CB gang did..coz we wanted to sit together...( 1st class gotta in grps of 4) So we sit in the "economy" class lah..err..nt very comfortable..6 together...think got ppl smoked in the train...u shld know who they were right? hahaha! had a cup noodle on the train...and played games lah...terrible 6 hrs..haha!
Finally, we reached le！the first stop was the 九曲溪. geog students! it was really a place to see what we had studied on our bks. Anyway, we took a wooden raft to tour ard the area. The water was so sparkling clear and cool! yes...we could feel the water hor..even saw a small water snake swam across our raft..hahaha! really a nice experience! Next, was to climb 武夷山. Haiz..i hate climbing...once u climbed cannot "go stan"...one way traffic. The tour guide told us that we cld end up climbing with both our hands & legs..tt was true. i really did that at the steep part. it was safer and faster to climb that way..haha! finally reached the top of the mountain, got a temple there lah..cld see the 九曲溪 frm the top...damn beautiful! visited the 朱嘉纪念馆 too.
somewhere during the trip we passed by fuzhou. sadly, i only had lunch there, then we carried on our trip..Fuzhou was the provincal capital of Fujian lah...very modernised too!
Took a domestic flight to Xiamen frm wu yi shan airport ( which was located at somewhere high) very small...and we gotta walked to the plane..dun have tt bridge ( wat was it called?) Anyway, took the New Xiamen airlines...first time travelled in a small plane...lucky the journey was stable..wah seh..when we took off cld see the mountains like beside us wor! haha terrific!
Yeah..back in xiamen! I was taken by surprised that the city was so modernised! haha! sua gu lah! visited 陈嘉庚's tomb...it was really magnificant. Also, saw the 集美学村. Xiamen was actually on an island btw. Visited the crocodile farm and on our way to 南普陀寺，our coaches drove into 厦门大学. one of the top unis in south china.
had a vegetarian lunch @ the temple..met some chinese who smoked in the air-con restaurant..we requested our tour guide to tell them nt to smoke..hahaha! i was watching the world cup match..germany vs saudi arabia! hahaha! Then, we went to shop at the 大学街,most of us bought stuffs frm the cd shop..hehee!
A must-see in xiamen was to go to the 鼓浪屿, an offshore island..took ferry there. Heard that ppl who lived there had piano in their hses..forgot abt the details...haha! Took cable car to reach the top of the island..hehe! can see the xiamen city view...cool! visited the bird park too...
The plane we took was frm another model ba? only got biz & econs class. anyway the seat was so big and comfty...shiok! haha..i think our grp nearly "booked" the whole plane lah..hahaha! food was still kinda sucky to me..and they showed "101 dalmations"..which i had seen upteen times..gosh! luckily i bought cds ah..or else bored to death sia! hehe!
Well, recommend u guys to visit Fujian if u have the chance...southern china food was definitely much better than northern china cuisine. lolz!

[yday] had lunch with ml,jw & les @ jack's place. was rather disappointed with the sirlion steak. i ordered well done butta i think i gotta not-so-well-done steak...the meat started to get "bloody" as i ate along...hahahaha! met up with pf later on..thanks for her treat for my earl grey..was rather nice, sweet tea...hahaha! however, i dun really like the earl grey tea leaves in tea packet, prefered they served it like the way Pasta Cafe did. ( pardon my eng vocab..dunno how to describe how they serve the tea) hahaha!

[today] met up buddies @ Heeren...to buy gift for hm. haha! end up sc & gc shopped for t-shirts first b4 we picked a shirt for hm. lolz. 37 degrees was having the last day sale..and both gals found something nice worth 8 bucks..cool! so...finally found something "qian bian" for hm..lolz! lucky got offer plus more ppl sharing the gift..helped me saved some money! great! ( me gg bankrupt real soon...haiz..the only reason why i wanna go to sch asap. lolz!) Anyway, met WT @ her workplace...(working hard to sell the shoes off...jia you!)
Had lunch @ Breeks! really nt worth my money man...haiz..the beef bolognese was pathetically little for me..and the sauce was kinda "diluted". haiz...wat the heck?! lucky hm treated us with ice mocha..or else i wld need to spend over 10 bucks for my lunch...kns! (can only eat western food @ breeks! lah..bigger portion)
was planning to play pool or arcade @ cineleisure, butta the plan was off. haiz...so roam the shops there b4 we went to P.S for arcade games. gosh...the games there were more ex than marina sq...so next time will go to marina sq for arcade & pool lah..hehe!

[yday] Let's talk abt my orientation yday. Basically went to sch with tuan coz she got a grammer test. then went to NP with ann, jw & gc. haha! i was surprised that we were kinda "late" coz many ppl had reached and we were grp into OG 7...haha!
basically i played games all the way till lunch. The 2 OGLs nt bad lah..hahaha! Basically my OG got quite a few frm JCs..haha...form the biggest JC gang in the OG wor...even our OGL Jaslyn was frm SR..and Gavin was in SR for 1st 3 mths. ( well, can see how famous SR was in SIM...sound like suaning the sch right? ) hahaha!
eh...i saw many familiar faces again lah. From SR, CCHMS & even my pri sch..butta i dunno them well lah. well, quite "horrifying" right? haha...
Sadly, my offer pack is nt ready for collection, gotta wait for it to be send to my house. haiz..wat the heck? so slow..haha! The Tay Eng Soon lib is nt too bad..though the fines sux. haha! think gotta check the textbks out...so many things to do...sianz! nt really looking forward to the sch term...very sianz!
[pool] went to Kpool @ Hg Plaza with tuan. 5.40 bucks per table for an hr..nt too bad ( cheaper than marina lor) but the environment is nt to my standard..so think wont go there again with tuan. haha! only played 2.5 rounds coz we were kinda lousy ( the balls juz cant get in..lolz!)

[yday] actually gave up my "hotman 2" epi 11 to meet my buddies @ bugis. haha! felt a little guilty for nt meeting them sometimes. hahah! anyway, had a nice chat with ch & sc during lunch, while waiting for tt slping queen hm. lolx! err...yday was initally a shopping trip for the 3 gals...but end up we spent most of the time playing pool and arcade games. lolz! well, first time played pool...one gd thing was tt the environment was nt bad...( at least no ah-bengs ah-lians playing there) haha...had quite a few rounds during the 1-hr game. at first felt very uncomfortable playing it..but then when i got it ( how to hit the ball) then everything worked well..haha! next time can ask me to play pool le wor!!
i felt that i am getting frm bad to worse when i played arcade games..haiz...think need some training sia? hahaha!
had my "dinner" @ changing appetites (CA) @ marina sq. well, shared an ice mocha freeze with hm...not too bad....the food was alright..though the bbq wingers sauce was kinda sour. haha! It was a japanese restaurant serving western food...its style is something like swensens. the prx is abt the same...i think u guys wld like to try their mudpies...quite alot of varieties, but ex too..abt 10 bucks. haha! love the sofa seats!

[be with you] This is the first movie of the year that is worth my 7 bucks. well, very touching, but not to the state of very sad/grief ( though many gals cried) haha! hehe!
I had actually intro this movie in my earlier entry, so wont go too much into the storyline. Very impressed with all the 3 lead actors in the movie. The movie had many beautiful sceneries like the lake, forest & himawari field!!! ( sunflower) alamak...there was like a small passage way for ppl to sit down and watch the sunflower...kirei da! ( beautiful) Hmm...the couple in the movie actually had only 1 proper date & 47 loveletters before they got married. amazing...
another part was that Mio actually knew her future when she was lying unconscious on the hospital bed. she saw her future with takumi & yuji,knew tt she wld die at the age of 28, and had promised them tt she wil return when the rainy season comes. So actually she still chose this path becoz she loved takumi very much. ( so if she didnt chose this path she might nt have died so young.) very touching...sacrifice yourself. hmm....in between got some funny parts lah..mostly between yuji & takumi. Also, another touching part was when takumi told mio about how they met & finally got married...( you will know takumi's side of their relationship). then after mio left them again, she left her diary for takumi to read. ( her diary & loveletters to takumi was kept in the time capsule-a secret b/w her & yuji) then, was a recap of their relationship, but this time round was mio's side...when u watched finished the movie u will get the pic clearly lah! hehe!
Highly recommend to those who wanna watch or like romance movies!!!! The theme song for this movie is "Hana" ( flower) by orange range. i had actually played this song in my blog b4..will be playing again coz it is simply nice! perhaps if you know the meaning of the lyrics u can relate to this movie too.
[another movie] well, another japanese romance movie will be showing soon. Personally i think this movie is more sad than "be with you". the title is "世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ" or "crying out in the centre of the world". I had read the novel version. the movie version was a great hit. Eh..still got drama version..hehe! The themesong is "Hitomi o dojite" by hirai ken. Highly recommend to you guys too.
[on my way to somerset] met shanice on the mrt..but only managed to chat with her while waiting for the train. haha! well, she was studying econs & mgt under UoL too..but she said the course was difficult...alamak! she commented it was like studying gp..gosh..my english??? sux!
well, intro to econs was ok ba...then she said maths quite o..k...but then i think i will face another big prob with my maths & stats liao...i dun have maths C background eh...jia lat liao! haiz...hope aug wont come tt fast.

[today] hehe! dad has grow older again today! poor daddy...lolz! ( well, he is still young ok?) hmm, maybe later treat him dinner? see how lah...wanna wish him happy bday & good health!!! yeah..health is very impt now...u know how much his eyes cost? haha ( u ppl will know when ur parents had to undergo cateract operations...haiz) besides that still got other things lah, but not serious le. so basically he is still healthy. lolz! eh..too bad he gotta work tonight..or else can watch jiu wu zi zun also...final epi eh! too bad lah dad!
