Yippee yay!Post-exam spree

Venue: Pavilion KL
Date: 17 November 2009

After finished my one last practical exam(OSPE/OSCE), with the accompaniment of Mei Yung, I headed to Pavilion for a post-exam spree^^

My lunch bento @ Ichiban Ramen, Pavilion KL, RM32..worth it!!
Yeah..at last I was able to watch it..2012!! Indeed, I was so excited that I finally fulfilled my movie longing and particularly glad to able to enjoy this awesome movie..so hot that everybody is kept discussing about it, and such great in demand that the tickets are undeniably sold out in a fast pace!J.Co break after the movie^^

Hohoho...Santa Claus is coming to town!! Indeed, a great movie conveying the importance of loving and preserving the Mother Earth that's getting sicker and sicker with the possibility of doomsday!who knows?Earth might be no longer suitable for mankind survival due to the damages, destruction and devastation caused by mankind himself!! Nothing is permanent..Human can fall sick and die,so does our lovely Mother earth..Certain humans are like the highly-virulent viruses that kept attacking the immunocompromised mother earth, causing her to become severely ill..We have to act fast to save our mother earth before it is too late!!
Start from now: recycling, reusing, reducing waste, replenishing the depleted resources, reflecting, reminding yourself from time to time..

Everyone Can Save a Life

BLood Donation Campaign organised by BSMM Detachment 88W in collaboration with JAKSA
Venue: DSG, KTSN
Date: 10 Oct 2009
I've been wanted to donate blood during the 25th Inter-varsity Buddhist Youth Camp..but sadly due to lack of sleep and stress, my Hb level was extremely low that prohibited me from donating blood..
I refused at first when my PBSM friends asked me to participate in the campaign..But shortly after that, I changed my mind..after thinking that I fulfilled the donor criteria, included having enough sleep yesterday..And I was eager to know my health status, ie whether my Hb level is in normal range, have normal BP, and whether I was eligible to donate..
I was very glad that I've make it through the examination and able to donate blood first time in my life ^^ I'm certainly will continue the good deed in the future when there's a chance..
Such contribution seems to be small yet it is so meaningful and noble..It is not easy for a person to step out himself or herself volunteer to donate blood..For those who donated blood, especially girls, give yourself an applause for being courageous and helping and accomplished the good deed..keep it up! ^^

Electrocardiogram

I used to do ECG once before during my primary years..it was not because I had angina or any heart disease,it was just because of ...guess what??Ok,let me start from the early morning of the day I took ECG..I was in my babysitter's house and that I found a Neslo aluminium can in the trash..I suddenly had a strong feeling to have a taste of Neslo..So I just grabbed the Nescafe and Milo from the rack and mixed them up,regardless the proportion, merely to satisfy my tastebud..So during the night after I finished my tuition class,I suddenly felt dyspnoea, tachycardia, and started to worry that something wrong with me and that I'm going to die soon..Mummy quickly sent me to clinic to check for ECG...well, until now I'm still wonder if I'm the only one who check for ECG jz because of having too much Nescafe..>.<

Today's learning was about how to manage ECG ta obtain record..Everyone of us has to take turn to obtain people's recording, and to be the subject for ECG recording..For sure,we have to "exposed" to place the cup suctions..Undoubtedly, gals will feel a bit hesitated and awkward to exposed in front of so many people ( of course all gals in the same group la)But being a medical student, we are trained to be open-minded and take it easy..After lying down, we still able to say "Ohho, exposed dy...Wahahaha.." The atmosphere was merry and it was really a fun learning process^^

Untill now,the mark of the cup suction still remain on my chest >.<

Taekwando Training

"Fear leads to confusion..Fear leads to hesitation..Put away all the negative feelings or emotions..Just be yourself, focus on your responsibility, and just do it..Always think yourself as a black-belt, no matter what belt you are holding on...." a take-home message from our beloved Sir Chauw^^

After whole day of hustle and bustle, helter-skelter, and having lunch with KMK juniors, sharing so many things with them..After whole day of tiredness and stress, I'm still willing to sacrifice my precious nap time, and substitute it with more meaningful thing, which is taekwando traning..After so many missing classes of training and grading, I know it is the time to back for training, and put aside all the excuses that might forbid me, and I just go for it..I know the spirit still burning in me and I want to learn new things for every class attended and improve my skills and stamina from the trainings onwards..

After the training, as I have predicted, muscle cramps, sore toes with peeling skin, which will worsen in coming days..but these are just small matters..haha..most importantly I have learnt some skills (which need to brush up thou), lessons, and woohoo!!!sweating!!!yeah..^^
Tnx to black-belt seniors and Sir Chauw for their guidance along the way^^

Learn abt Leukemia & Blood grouping

Dr Noor Hamidah was so funny in her explanation & example..

"You all have to know how to differentiate Acute frm chronic type of leukemia..Acute type we have Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, chronic type we have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and Chronic Lymphoid Leukemia..It is NOT acute myeloid leukemia or acute lymphoid leukemia, and chronic myeloblastic leukemia or chronic lymphoblastic leukemia..Just like John and Jane..John cannot be Jane and Jane cannot be John..John is John and Jane is Jane.." >.< some sort of that la..

During MES practical session abt blood grouping lagi funny!!A demonstration video was shown before we started practical learning..It zoom in and clearly shown the person who gonna been pricked, protruding out the middle finger with other fingers folded!!!!!!Wow!!What a demonstration..We all laugh and nothing but laugh >.< And I totally been pricked for 3 times!Having to learn abt and determine the Hb concentration, Haematocrit value, ABO blood group and Rhesus blood group.."Fun picit the pricked finger tips"to get blood..haha

Somemore had learnt how to "suck" blood for measuring Hb concentration purpose later..After failed in 1st time trying ( poor hauwei's blood full of air and bubbles), I finally made it for 2nd try in sucking hauwei's blood and 3rd try in sucking MeiYung's blood..like what Gauthamen said,I've become a "sucker"..haha

Senior Year

"学姐好" "学姐,请问..." "郁贞学姐..."

This is what actually happen right now around college and campus..It is good that some juniors take the initiative to greet although they do not know you in person..But there are still lots of juniors that do not do so...

It seems like an obligation superficially, but if you think further and deeper,it means a lot..

For me,it can be good and bad..Good is that it shows I have successfully passed my 1st year, and able to proceed to 2nd year^^And no more concern about "wajib" attending all sorts of KT annoying stuffs..Bad is that I cannot deny myself of getting older, sob sob...And I started to realise and feel the stress, responsibillity and commitment of handling posts in all sorts of activities, societies, and organisations, the importance of well-equipped medical knowledge, be it theoretically or clinically, for the sake of becoming a profesional and all-rounded doctor, or at least a well-prepared and confident clinical years medical student in less-than-a-year time...

Anyhow,I'm trying my very best to balance between activities and studies...yea, studies are the main priority...I shall not allow myself to fall down AGAIN!!
