The long awaited post....Wow, it's amazing how busy two babies keep you! I decided I would take advantage while they were sleeping to post.
So our munchkins were born February 14th, Yay for Valentines Babies!! I went into labor during church and went to the hospital right after. I was 36 weeks and 3 days. Silly Corbin was breach so I needed a c-section. Kate was born at 7:17 at 5lbs 3oz and 17 inches long. Corbin was born 60 seconds later at 7:18 at 4lbs 9oz and 17 inches long. Both had a hard time breathing but after 20 minutes of oxygen were breathing on their own. They did have to spend 4 days in NICU as more of a precautionary measure. Kate had elevated white blood cell counts which indicates a possible infection and Corbins blood glucose dropped indicating he may be to premature to regulate it himself. By the end of the week though all tests came back normal and both babies were doing great so they got to come home the same time I did!! Everything worked out for the best and we are so happy that our little ones are home healthy and are growing well. We went to our 1st pediatrician appointment and both babies are over their birth weight and they are only a week old! They dont expect that much weight gain until they are two weeks old! We are very blessed! Life has been busy but not to stressful so far. I'm sure once they are out of their newborn sleepy faze things will get interesting! Here are some pics:
One final belly shot before leaving for the hospital.

Here we are all ready for my c-section to begin. Dont you love the hats?!

The first time I got to hold Kate. She was still on oxygen. It felt like I had to wait for forever to see them because they had to stabalize them first. I had only had one peek at them right after they were delivered and then I had to wait an hour or something to see them again. I dont know how long I had to wait but it felt like forever! Zack got to be with them the whole time they were being cleaned up and stabalized so that helped put me at ease that at least their daddy was with them.

I couldn't hold Corbin yet because he was still having a hard time. They let me hold his little hand and talk to him. As soon as he heard me he calmed down and turned toward my voice. It was really sweet.

Claire's first time meeting her new brother and sister. Since they were in NICU Claire couldn't see them so she had to wait almost a week to meet them. Everytime she see's or talks about the babies she says "Aww, cute" She is such a good big sister! She loves to kiss the top of their heads and she always wants to hold them but after 20 seconds of us helping her she nicely tells us that she is all done holding the baby. She is so funny!

Here they are in their going home outfits. Dont you just love their coordinating hats? The dressing of the twins in matching/coordinating clothes has begun!

Claire and her sister in matching PJ's.

Claire wanted a picture with Corbin and wanted to lay down because he was laying down. Notice Corbin's blanket, we hadn't washed any of the boy blankets yet and this was the only one left from Claire that had some sort of trace of blue. Now his blankies are all washed and he is usually always covered in something blue!
