Zack's blog

Well you might have noticed that Laura has not blogged anything for a while (with two new good reasons why), so I thought I would have a crack at it.

The twins are 5 months old now, and are getting bigger every day! They were blessed on June 6th, and smiled during the entire blessing. We couldn't have asked for better behaved babies. They sleep well, they are almost always happy, and they rarely cry. They are quite the opposite of Claire.

Here is a picture of them at a couple weeks old. I will have laura post some newer ones (since they are quite a bit bigger than this now). Let's see how long it takes Laura to even realize I posted this.

Kate and Corbin!

The long awaited post....Wow, it's amazing how busy two babies keep you! I decided I would take advantage while they were sleeping to post.
So our munchkins were born February 14th, Yay for Valentines Babies!! I went into labor during church and went to the hospital right after. I was 36 weeks and 3 days. Silly Corbin was breach so I needed a c-section. Kate was born at 7:17 at 5lbs 3oz and 17 inches long. Corbin was born 60 seconds later at 7:18 at 4lbs 9oz and 17 inches long. Both had a hard time breathing but after 20 minutes of oxygen were breathing on their own. They did have to spend 4 days in NICU as more of a precautionary measure. Kate had elevated white blood cell counts which indicates a possible infection and Corbins blood glucose dropped indicating he may be to premature to regulate it himself. By the end of the week though all tests came back normal and both babies were doing great so they got to come home the same time I did!! Everything worked out for the best and we are so happy that our little ones are home healthy and are growing well. We went to our 1st pediatrician appointment and both babies are over their birth weight and they are only a week old! They dont expect that much weight gain until they are two weeks old! We are very blessed! Life has been busy but not to stressful so far. I'm sure once they are out of their newborn sleepy faze things will get interesting! Here are some pics:
One final belly shot before leaving for the hospital. Here we are all ready for my c-section to begin. Dont you love the hats?!
The first time I got to hold Kate. She was still on oxygen. It felt like I had to wait for forever to see them because they had to stabalize them first. I had only had one peek at them right after they were delivered and then I had to wait an hour or something to see them again. I dont know how long I had to wait but it felt like forever! Zack got to be with them the whole time they were being cleaned up and stabalized so that helped put me at ease that at least their daddy was with them.I couldn't hold Corbin yet because he was still having a hard time. They let me hold his little hand and talk to him. As soon as he heard me he calmed down and turned toward my voice. It was really sweet.Claire's first time meeting her new brother and sister. Since they were in NICU Claire couldn't see them so she had to wait almost a week to meet them. Everytime she see's or talks about the babies she says "Aww, cute" She is such a good big sister! She loves to kiss the top of their heads and she always wants to hold them but after 20 seconds of us helping her she nicely tells us that she is all done holding the baby. She is so funny! Here they are in their going home outfits. Dont you just love their coordinating hats? The dressing of the twins in matching/coordinating clothes has begun! Claire and her sister in matching PJ's. Claire wanted a picture with Corbin and wanted to lay down because he was laying down. Notice Corbin's blanket, we hadn't washed any of the boy blankets yet and this was the only one left from Claire that had some sort of trace of blue. Now his blankies are all washed and he is usually always covered in something blue!

34 1/2 Weeks prego!

These aren't the most flattering pics but I have been a slacker at taking any pictures this pregnancy so this is about as good as it gets. The Doc says that they are each about 5 pounds! I have 10 pounds of babies in me! Yikes! Hopefully I go on my own in about 2 weeks or I will be induced sometime around Valentines day! Super exciting since it happens to be my most favorite holiday!

Wow it has been a long time since I blogged! Everyone is probably used to it though :) Sorry I am such a slacker but it never seems like much is going on over here. I decided to do a quick update on Claire and show a belly pic so everyone can see how the twins are doing.

In the fall we took Claire to the Union Station to see the trains. She LOVES trains or Choo choo's as she calls them. Whenever she see's a train she says "My Choo Choo!" She had so much fun seeing all of the big trains up close.

Claire has a new found love for Snow White. The funniest part about this is that her favorite part of the movie Snow White is the 'Scary Witch'. She is always so concerned when the 'Scary Witch' isn't part of the scene and I have to tell her just to be content with watching Snow White. So funny that she likes the creepiest parts of the show!
Claire is now 2 and is so big! She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so we had a Mickey Mouse party. In this pic she is standing in front of the game we played, put the bow on Minnie. Claire is growing so fast! Her talking has really taken off. She knows all her numbers 1-12 (thanks to our clock that we practice on at breakfast), she can recognize almost all of the major colors, and she even knows a lot of shapes. She is so much fun and is so smart! Her favorite game is playing 'I Spy'. It was a good game to distract her at the store and in the car but now it seems like she wants to play it all the time! She even requests it when she is in bed falling asleep! We are running out of things to spy!
Here is Claire in her super cute halloween costume. Of course she was Minnie Mouse. I wish I had a pic from Halloween night because she had wiskers and eyelashes drawn on her face but those pics are on Grandma's camera.
And last but certainly not least here is a prego pic taken about a week ago at 25 1/2 weeks. I am now almost 27 weeks and feeling great! I am very full of babies but they are growing well. I know a lot of you are thinking that I am not very big for only having 10 weeks left and being prego with twins. I get this a lot. Even my OB forgets that there are twins in there. I guess I just carry them all on the inside. My grandma had twins and they didn't know there were two babies until she was delivering. I always wondered how a doctor could miss something like that but if she carried her twins like me then I can understand how if could be mistaken for one baby.
Well, our family is doing great and the time is fast approaching when we will become a family of five! I am so excited to meet these two babies but getting more nervous each day for that newborn stage! I know we will survive but life will be hectic.

It's a.........

Its a GIRL and a BOY!! We went to the Dr yesterday and both babies are growing well! We are so excited to have one of each, we just hope it doesn't change :) He was pretty sure he got a good look but we will check again in 4 weeks. I hope it stays the same but I just want two healthy babies. Here is one of the ultrasound pics. I am pretty sure this is our boy because he is up higher and we could get better shots of him. It is crazy to see how squished they are in there already!

Fun News!

So this has been a long time coming and I know almost everybody knows the news by now but I didn't want to officially post about it until we had made it to 12 weeks. So here we are almost at 13 weeks and we have TWO very cute and very healthy little babies that are developing well! We will be having twins sometime in the middle of February and are very excited and nervous about it! We aren't sure of the genders yet but in 4 weeks we will know! Alot is about to change in our life but it is deffinitely for the better. I will keep everyone posted on Dr's appointments and things and on my huge belly that will soon be developing! I always hesitate posting the ultrasound pics but with twins I couldn't help it! I think it is so neat! I know they are hard to see but if you squint your eyes enough you might be able to convince yourself that there are two babies! They are just hanging out, one sitting on top of the other. Their heads are both on the left side of the picture.

1 year anniversary, of GRADUATION!!!

With graduation last weekend I was reminded of my own graduation last year. I can't believe I have been graduated for a whole year! The time has flown by! I never posted my pics last year because I was new to the Blogging world so I decided to commemorate the mile stone by posting them now! I look at me and Claire and I can't believe we survived the experience together! I want to thank my wonderful family for watching my sweet daughter and helping me keep my sanity! I couldn't have finished school without the love and support of my great hubby, my family, my friends, and my professors. Thank you all for helping me to accomplish something great. I love you all! (You may not be able to tell but Claire has a cute Wildcat Onsie on to show her school spirit!)

(***Hey friends, if you have any pics of us from the front I would love you forever!)
