Fishing with Daddy

I took these pictures about a month ago while Bill and Ave were fishing.  I see many more of these fishing trips in their future!

Random Phone Pics

I currently have 450 pictures on my phone and figured that it was about time to download them onto my computer.  I got my phone when Ave was about 1 1/2 so the pictures date all the way back.  I feel a little emotional looking at the old ones-

My sweet little thing on a trip to the park.  Why do they have to grow up so fast???

I remember this day very clearly.  It was Valentine's Day '12 and we had gone to the zoo.  She was extremely sassy that day and wouldn't go down for a nap.  I brought her into my room and this is what she decided to do.  I remember thinking that this pic fit her personality for the day perfectly.

A little BB&B shopping before our move

This picture was taken when we pulled out of our driveway for the last time.  It was such a bittersweet moment.

Wearing princess pjs to bed for the first time.  She would choose to wear these every night if I let her.

Being silly with Garrett

Anytime there is a two seater shopping cart, Ave assumes it's there for Sophie.

Rodeo day at school

First trip to TCBY.  That look on her face is exactly how I feel inside each time I walk in there too!

I love their faces in this...so happy!

Mother's Day!

For the past two years, we have gone to the Aquarium after church on Mother's Day.  We decided to do this again, and I was really looking forward to spending some fun, quality time with our little family after being away from Avery while on vacation.

Last year didn't go as planned- Ave was scared of everything!  This year was completely different.  I think she loved every single thing about the aquarium.

First, we hit up the shark train ride per Ave's request.

This girl loves nothing more than riding trains and trolleys (sitting in her own seat, NOT on our laps)

Ready to go!
Her favorite- the saw fish

Next up was the ferris wheel followed by the aquarium.

The new stingray exhibit

Feeling brave enough to touch it!

If I was scuba diving and came across this thing in the ocean, I probably would have a heart attack and die right on the spot.  Really creepy!

A seaforce!  You can't tell by the enthusium on her face but she was really excited to see this little guy.
On a side note- there are a couple of words that Ave says wrong that I do not correct like force or forsey for horse and biveo for video.  I just really love hearing them the wrong way and hope she never figures out the right way to same them :).

The white tiger was not very exciting that day but for some reason when he looks into my eyes, I feel like he could easily run full speed through the glass and kill me on the spot.  Weird, I know.

Family shot on our 2nd shark train trip

Last but definitely not least in Ave's eyes, the merry-go-round.  Ave could ride in circles all day long.  Bill, on the other hand...

She chose a dolphin to ride each time.

That night, my family came over to our house to celebrate my Mom.  Somehow we managed to all get together on the actual day- not an easy feat these days.

Opening presents

Sophie was looking real fancy in her blue earring!

On the following Wednesday, we got together with Wendy for a Mother's Day dinner.  It was great celebrating with our both our moms.  Now that I'm a mom, I can truly appreciate all that they have done for us over the years.  I'm so thankful for the great example that I was given growing up and hope that I can live up to it!  There is no better job title that I could have than being a mom.  I love being able to spend my days with Ave and soon, both my girls!

Grand Cayman Take 2

Last May, Bill and I went on a trip to Grand Cayman with some friends.  There was one of the worst tropical storms in the history of the island at the time, so it wasn't the most relaxing beach vacation.  We all agreed that Grand Cayman would be perfect if we had good weather so we decided to give it another shot this year.  We went a couple weeks earlier than before to avoid the rainy season.

We flew there with the Morrises on a Thursay and the Arrants and Mioris were meeting up with us the following day.  Since we were not able to eat on the beach once last year, we decided that should be first up on the agenda this year.  We found this fun restaurant right on the water, and it was a great way to start the vacation.

The awesome view from our table

They had tarpon feedings every evening so we hung around long enough to watch them and then headed to Dairy Queen for a blizzard.  What could be a better way to wrap up the day???
The next day we checked into the condo and waited for the rest of our party to get there!

We spent quite a bit of time relaxing on the screened in porch outside the condo.  It was huge and had an amazing view.

After some time in the sun, we went to another little restaurant on the beach.

We took LOTS of pictures- couple shots, girls, boys, etc.  I felt like I was going to prom all over again!

The guys- they were SO happy to be getting their pictures taken :)

I realized once I got home that I had so much fun on the beach every day that I really didn't take many pictures other than while eating.  This vacation was absolutely amazing because we literally did nothing but lay on the beach, swim in the ocean, eat, and repeat.  It was absolute paradise!

Another night, we went to a slightly fancier dinner, and by fancy I mean that we didn't all wear shorts and flip flops.  It was on the beach next to this really neat, historical house.  It had delicious food and was one of my favorite nights there.

It was a tad dark and Bill was struggling to see the menu.

The guys tried some sea turtle as an appetizer.  I still don't understand how that is possible since I'm pretty sure sea turtles are endangered but they decided to give it a shot.  Bill was convinced that they just got a flipper and wasn't impressed.  The girls split a conch fritters appetizer.  If you know me then you know that I don't love seafood but I really branched out and got some fish and shrimp.  Is it sad that I feel proud when I try new things food wise??

Mmm, key lime pie.  I have really wanted a lot of this during my pregnancy.  I could totally eat a piece right now as I'm typing!

The sign outside the restaurant explaining the significance of the house.

An ongoing joke throughout the trip was our car situation.  The silver SUV on the left belonged to us and the Morrises.  The little white car/ SUV on the right was the Arrants and Mioris.  They were supposed to get a much larger vehicle than us but didn't.  Dan lovingly referred to his car as the peanut elf.

The Sunshine Grill was our favorite place to eat last year, so we decided to go back for lunch one day.  It did not disappoint!

The last night, we took it easy on the beach and watched the sunset.

The water was like a pool...so amazing!

For some reason, we started talking about poses/ facials that teenage girls make these days in pictures.  That turned into these pics-

Um, I think they all have down the poses a little too well!

Last shot of the vacation.  So sad!

It truly was one of the best vacations we have ever had.  The company was great, the weather perfect, and the food delicious!  Knowing that we probably won't be going on another vacation alone for a while made us really appreciate every minute of relaxation.  The best part was coming home to our girl after a great trip.  I don't think Avery has ever been so excited to see us.  Our flight came in a little later than expected so she was up at like 10 pm waiting for us.  She had decorated our kitchen with streamers and balloons (with a little help from my parents) and kept saying, "I'm so happy you are back from vacation."  We had the best time but it's always great to be back home.
