I have a friend named Ed. He owns this "ferrari". One fine day, a friend accidentally got his coat caught in between the door when he got out of the car. So Ed, who is a 3rd year medic (which means he has to be at least a little bit smart), yanks the door open, and in the process damages the latch on the door, rendering it unable to close. So Ed (being the smart guy he is) decides to examine the other side of the door, in an attempt to repair the damaged one. However, instead of fixing it, he messes up the other side as well. So both sides couldn't close properly. (Look carefully at the picture, and you'll notice that the front door isn't closed)

So last saturday morning, i got woken up at 11 in the morning with a request to help him hold the doors shut while he drove to the garage to repair the unclosable doors.

So off we went. I sat shotgun and held the door on my side shut with my left hand, and held on to a golf club wedged on the other door's handle to keep that other door shut with my right. Mind you, the doors are heavy! He had to slow down at every single corner as the doors would swing open! Can you imagine how stupid we looked. Onlookers just stared... probably in disbelief. It was the stupidest thing i've done so far in university.

To make things even more dumb, the mechanic took 5 seconds to fix both doors, and then looked at us, smiled, and said," no charge!"

Sigh... tis the exciting life of a freshman!

Played in a basketball 3-a-side tournament in Dundee today. It was organized by Dundee U. Really disappointed... lost in the semis by a point to a team we beat earlier in the group stages of the tournament! To make it worse they ended up winning the tournament...

Ah well.

Anyway, see the supporters? Haha.. they were nice, kept treating us like celebrities, giving us lunch, drinks, food... and even had a banner made for us. Too bad we didn't have a trophy to bring back.

Next year. Posted by Picasa

Medical Ethics 101

Part of my curriculum is Medical Ethics, which include topics like Euthanasia or mercy killing. I thought i'd just share a little of what it was all about, so here's an educational video i found on the web that'll hopefully teach you a bit and show you some of the stuff i learn @ school. http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=8229602070305680359

Lethargic

After a week of cooping myself in my room studying, i've come to the conclusion that studying makes you lethargic. have been sleeping 11 hours a night consistently. Yes quite a luxury i know, tis one of the perks of reading week!

Woke up at 1230 to the blinding rays of sunlight seeping through the curtains and shining on my snow white complexion. Tried to get out of bed but failed.. managed to grab my phone and randomly take a picture of my desk though.

Exam on monday! Can't wait till it's over! I'll then be able to sleep 12 hours a day.... in peace! Posted by Picasa

Christmas season!

Guys remember this? 2 years ago..

I like Christmas! Besides the fact that Jesus was born on Christmas day, i like the atmosphere, the joy and festivities. So i want to believe that it's the start of the Christmas "season". No harm starting early!

Anyway, i've been practising the drums quite a bit lately since i have no school till my exam 2 wks from now. Found some good drum videos on youtube. Search out onlinedrummer. Pretty easy to learn, if you're interested.

One day i'll be a good drummer. One day soon! Hopefully.

Heh it would be pretty funny in the future when people ask me what i learned in med school, and i say, "Oh, the drums". Posted by Picasa

Dad's chocs

So my Dad wanted me to put the pics of the chocolates he got for his b'day up. Just to make us jealous. And hungry.

Thanks dad. I'm gonna use some of the money you gave me to buy myself some chocolates tmr.

Oh if you happen to have FACEBOOK, pls add me! Facebook is just like friendster, but better! Really.. check out the link i put up under my tagboard somewhere.

Oh yes today james came up to me and asked me if i wanted to join the church choir with him, and start singing this sunday. I attend a traditional Parish church, and we sing hymns accompanied by a huge organ.

So i said," ok cool."

Mind you, they wear really fancy robes and sing hymns Handel style! Man, what have i gotten myself into... haha!

Praise the Lord! Posted by Picasa

Crash bang boom!

I bought a pair of drum sticks. Not chicken.. real ones! I've always wanted to learn the drums but i've never been given the opportunity. There's a music room i can book which has a drum set and a piano in it, so i figured why not capitalise on it! Right now i can only make noise, but soon it would be organised noise! Posted by Picasa
