New Toy

Decided to get a new camera for the Taipei trip (and for more trips to come). Heard the Courts at mega store at Tampines is having some discounts so went down after work to take a look. Didn’t have anything in mind but was mainly look at Olympus as heard quite good reviews. I’m quite sick of Canon as my last 2 cams were Canon already.

Salute to the salesman who was serving me. He was super patient to explain to me the functions (though I got a bit bored in the middle of his explaination). So I the SZ-31MR model. Looks a little like an “inspired” DSLR. Hope it will serve me well. Can’t wait to use it. Oh and it came with some practical goodies.

Reflections of 2012

Decided to do a reflections post since nothing significant happened since 1st of Jan (haha), except that I started on yet another new job just this week. It’s gonna be tough but I hope I can hang in there longer and stronger.

Just would like to refresh and look back what have been 2012 for me.

January – Our first CNY as husband and wife (we were barely married for slightly more than a month). Still received Ang Baos from both sides relatives but I still gave the kids ang baos for my side.

February – We had the simplest renovation for our humble abode and shifted in to our new place in Punggol Sapphire.

May – Left Coy M without finding another new job, as I wanted to take a short break before something new comes along. It was the hardest decision made in my life. I had nice colleagues which I got along well but due to the very high overtime that is affecting my personal life I have to decide to go.

June – We headed to Australia-Gold Coast. The destination was supposed to be Japan but due to the radiation news we decided to change to Aussie. It was my virgin trip there and we totally did not regret. Though it was with tour group, lucky thing our group was quite a nice bunch. (I’m missing Aussie already as I type, will want to explore other parts of Aussie when there’s chance)

July – Lucky enough, a new job came along-LL. But barely 1 month I find that the job was not what I wanted and left. (Which I still regret my rash actions). But oh well, life have to go on.

Aug to Oct – Job market have been pretty bad and quiet. So I took this free time as an opportunity to spend more time with my parents. I also learnt how to bake from the Hubs. For a start, I tried the basic butter cake (not using pre-mix), chocolate cake, fruit cake, cup cakes and rainbow cake. Feedback was quite positive.

Oct – Started on yet another job with Coy J- which seems very much to be a good catch with good location, little or no overtime (work life balance). However, just when the picture seems so nice yet another problem arises. Never have I met a manager who become a totally opposite person from what she was during the interview. Therefore, I have to decide to go (not that I did not try to salvage but I have approached her 4 times on the issue) – really just my luck.

Nov – Have the simplest birthday but I was really happy. The Hubs present me the iPad mini and we had a short staycation at Amara Sanctuary Resort for my birthday cum our 1st Anniversary stay.

Dec – Celebrated our 1st Anni- simple dinner as we celebrated in advance. I did not prepare any gift for the Hubs but I think he’s happy with the time spent together. And it’s also the first Christmas tree we put up in our new house (ironically we were nursing our stomach flu on Xmas day). Dunno to laugh or cry.
Anyway, the year ended quietly and peacefully for me (as yet).

Moving forward, I just pray that the road will be smoother.

Psst: Will be going to Taiwan during the CNY period next month. Can’t wait!!

First post of Twenty Thirteen

A Big Hello to 2013!!!
I have decided to re-blog again and keep a virtual diary so that i can read back of what have went on in my life.
A brief reflection of 2012- is a year of so many downs in my life that I do not wish to keep count of. Work have been playing a major crazy rollercoaster ride for me.
Some reflections of 2012:-
  • Sent out 3 resignation letters in a year
  • Went for 4 medical check-ups in a year
  • Went for the most interviews in a year and I can just close my eyes answering the same questions over and over again
  • Seen the most of human nature
  • Being on a “trial-run” to have a taste of being a tai-tai (it’s a love-hate relationship, if only I can don’t work with still having moo lahs..haha)
  • Spent the most time with my parents during the day (getting free lunches from them everyday)

Lucky for now, a new job adventure awaits me (lucky to be able to start work for the new fresh year). So I really hope this one works out for me.

For now, no resolutions for 2013 but I do hope that it will be a smooth sailing year for me and the Hubs and of course all my friends around.
