New Toy

Decided to get a new camera for the Taipei trip (and for more trips to come). Heard the Courts at mega store at Tampines is having some discounts so went down after work to take a look. Didn’t have anything in mind but was mainly look at Olympus as heard quite good reviews. I’m quite sick of Canon as my last 2 cams were Canon already.

Salute to the salesman who was serving me. He was super patient to explain to me the functions (though I got a bit bored in the middle of his explaination). So I the SZ-31MR model. Looks a little like an “inspired” DSLR. Hope it will serve me well. Can’t wait to use it. Oh and it came with some practical goodies.

Check it out here: SZ-31MR – Traveler S series

缘分

I guess that’s what called yuan2 fen4 (缘分)!

I just didn’t have the mood to overtime today, so suggested to Gabbie to have Ramen Champion at Changi Airport.

Surprisingly, after dinner we bumped into Mingli’s dad and shout out to him. Chatted for awhile (coz ML is flying back to London tonight) and went separate ways.

After we were done with our window shopping, we bumped into ML’s dad again this time with baby Ryan!!….so happy to get to see him again and also to bid farewell to ML (God knows when will she be back again and when she comes back baby Ryan would have grown bigger!). Had a short conversation with her, hugged twice and we bid farewell again. (I guess now she would be in the departure hall..)

Can’t wait for you guys to come back again~!

Happy CNY – I’m BACK!!

Hello!!!!

It’s been a long long long while since I blogged and I hope I can get my form back. Probably no one comes in to read anymore but I just want to keep a diary of my new phase of life now and an outlet to air my thoughts.

It’s exactly ONE year since my blogging came to a hiatus. 2011 have a super duper eventful year for Gabbie and me. It was a whole year of wedding preparations and juggling my ever busy work with tremendously over-time. And now we are Married with still lots of stuff to juggle. Our house is in the midst of renovation (can’t wait to move in!). Lots of stuff to update….I’ll take it slow.

First and foremost, It’s the Chinese New Year now! So wishing everyone a Happy Water Dragon Year!

There’s so many first this year for us and barely being married for about 1 month plus, we have to give ang pows!

Here’s our simple first CNY:

Early reunion dinner with my family first coz cny eve have to be the in-laws.

First Yu Sheng of the year!

@ Mong Hing Teochew Restaurant

Reunion dinner with the In-Laws

Yu Sheng with extra fish!

Mother-in-law made all these!…

Sukiyaki! Uber nice!

And I spent the night preparing the ang pows to give the next day! Hiak hiak~~

Surprisingly, my uncles and aunties still gave us ang pows saying that coz we it’s our first year of marriage! No more ang pows next year!… :((

We had our fair share of running between 2 families and I think we ought to coordinate ourselves better next year!

That’s us signing off!!!

Best of 2010

Well! Well!

Haven’t been on the move to much blogging this year….it also shows how busy this year have been for me (and Gabbie) – and I mean mad utterly BUSY!!

Since 2010 have come to a close. I wanna just make a recount how eventful this year have been for us.

Jan~
* The kiasu me….starting scouting for wedding banquet venue….emailing all the hotels we might consider having our wedding.
* Started going for wedding shows….gosh! it was mad crazy with first time experience with all the touting from the bridal studios (we were only interested with hotels)
* Brought both side of parents down to Amara Sanctuary for site visit – signal ok!

Feb~
* Was told by the banquet manager that they will be in the BOWS 2010 and ask us to go down during the show to sign up to get more perks.
* Went down to BOWS 2010 wedding show and finally sign on the dotted lines and paid the deposit. Went back again to the resort to see the contract and sign! This is It!!

Mar~
* Start of the ‘workaholic-syndrome’……..about a month into the new job…..it was OT maddness….and took about half a month…..

Apr~
* Amist of our busy schedule…..we went for our long booked Engaged Encounter (which is the marriage preparation course in general)…spent 3 days and 2 nights for the weekend….it was really quality time spent together and getting to know each other even more on another level and discuss issues we have never cross our minds.

May~
* Gabbie finally popped the question! On our 6th Anniversary when we celebrate it in Amara Sanctuary..(Of course, I said “Yes!”….haha)

Jun-Jul~
* Deciding which church to go for and finding a time to meet the priest…..blah blah blah…..finally booked our Church for our Matrimony….

Aug-Sep~
* These 2 months just swift pass unknowingly….in the midst of our hectic-ness….-again….

Oct~
* Finally decided on our decision for our Bridal studio and went ahead to booked it with the help of our buddy and “price slashing”. We went with Di Gio (cross our fingers!)

Nov~
* Things start to go on a slower pace.
* We signed up for yoga class together but couldn’t give the time fully (as still super busy with work and OTs)

Dec~
* We meet up with Gabbie’s old friend and we also engaged him to be our AD photographer….we went ahead with him coz of the “at-the-moment” feel….we love it!

It has been a whole year of events, hardship, suffering, happiness, decisions. And I believe all things happen for a reason. As we go into another phase in our life, we discuss a lot of things together and make decisions together.

My hope for 2011. As much as I wish it to be smooth sailing, I hope we continue to conquer the hardships that we know that is coming our way.

We are looking forward to an even MORE eventful 2011 with our New Nest, Wedding and Honeymoon installed.

I can’t wait!!

Quiet day

Was on leave today so spent the day with my mum. Caught SALT. Typical Angeline Jolie action packed style. After that we have a slow walk around the mall. Quality time spent together.

Gabbie is not well today and on mc, so I made a trip down punggol to see him. Hope he will be much well tomorrow.

Took a pic of our future home sweet home from the punggol LRT which is also my first time taking alone. Almost couldn’t find it. Hiak…

Pampering Ourselves

Seems like there will be likely only one post per month….Hiak~~~

Though it’s only been about 1 weeks plus after closing…the next closing is gonna start soon…there’s been some catching up to do.

I took leave last Friday and the coming Monday – to have some time for myself and for my family. So I’m enjoying it while i can.

As for our Saturday this week, we decided to pamper ourselves with the Amara Sanctuary voucher which I got since my Company got lots of dealings with them.

We caught THE EXPANDABLES for our usual Saturday movie session. Been a long time since i brought out my camera so took a shot in the cinema.

Tried to create some artsy shot…thought it’s quite nice though…hehe

The original shot

After the movie, we headed down to Amara Sanctuary Sentosa for our so-called fine dining dinner. It’s really quiet for a weekend. First look, no weddings goin on (chinese 7th month). Not much customer at the lobby.

Anyways, we were the first customer for the evening. We decided to take the al-lar-cart menu as the 3-course menu looks boring.

Here’s what we got:

Starter

The onion soup is really tasty.

Medium rare & not very bloody. Yummy!

Super tender it melts in your mouth. Hmmm!

Warm and soft. But i didn’t like it with so much walnuts.

Gabbie had this one. He love it!

While waiting for our dessert, we tried to take a few self shots. fail~~~~ hahha…

Our evening ended with a visit to our new Home….our block at level 9 now!! And a short tea break at Changi T3 (our usual hangout).

Ju Shin Jung Korean BBQ buffet

First time trying out Korean BBQ buffet. So as recommended by my colleague we went ahead. (After Gabbie back from reservist…)

We went to the highly rave authentic Ju Shin Jung at Katong.

The many side dishes and the first plate of pork

I highly recommend the meat which are marinated. More tasty.

At the end of the BBQ session…

We were busy BBQ-ing and eating and that explains the lack of pictures.. 🙂

Gabbie looking all filled up (and so dark, i actually lightened the pic…hehe)

After eating such hot stuff…we went for ice-cream. It’s Udders at novena. Yummy ice-cream they serve!!

Back soon + Gabbie’s tiny BD dinner

Haven’t been blogging coz been on a bumpy road since beginning of the year. More or less a super long roller-coaster ride, changing job and getting used to new ‘lifestyle’ at new job blah blah blah. And super boring life.

What else man?!?!?!

I hope to come back soon and start clicking my cammie soon.

Have a small and simple birthday dinner for Gabbie (It was a weekday and since we both have to work)

Gabbie have been craving for Max Brenner for the longest time so i gave him what he wanted.

Uniquely metal straw

Souffle *mad sinful*

Am taking a short time off to blog at work. So now gotta jump back to it.

Till then.

New year resolutions

New Year Resolutions are harder and harder to keep as you get older. But well, better than nothing.

So I shall make a list and hope that I can keep to it.

1) Planning, planning and more planning (shan’t say much now)

2) Save – not to buy unecessary stuff

3) Take my CPA (I think can’t materialise yet)

4) Exercise – hope to get a 1 year package from Amore since will be opening so near my place

Shall keep to a minimum, no point making a big list but can’t keep to it!

I hope I can achieve more in this new decade.
