Prayer

One reminder here that tomorrow morning is my check-up at the doctor. I am expecting a great visit with nothing but great news to report, but of course, prayers are always appreciated, and never a waste of time :)

Too funny not to share

Sunday, July 27, 2008

This afternoon, Nathaniel was working on putting away some laundry. He had enlisted the help of Natalie, and had given her the job of finding hangers. After a few minutes, she returned from the bedroom with this:

Natalie: Daddy, I have some good news and some not so good news.

Nathaniel: What do you mean?

Natalie: I got some hangers...it took me a while because I had to take the clothes off of them!

Hilarious!! Okay, I am back on my bloggy break now!

The pictures I promised...

Are these not the cutest kids you have ever seen?

Natalie and Levi looked awesome in their matching outfits...yes, I am totally 'that kind' of mom! I love dressing them in coordinating clothes. Actually, they will be sporting some new matching outfits tomorrow morning for church, so be watching...they are GREAT!

Natalie pulling Levi in the flag wagon.

They had a great time in the 4th of July Parade again
this year, and took second place! Woohoo!

I love this picture of my handsome boy...so precious to me.

This is a teaser picture. Several have inquired about pictures of our new home, but it is still under decor-renovation! I am working hard, but it seems there are not enough hours on the day for me to get all of it done. Nathaniel keeps telling me 'one thing at a time', but it is so UN-relaxing to sit in a home that is unsettled. Soon my friends, very soon! Until then, here is a sneak peek at one wall in our dining room. I purchased the old shutter at a garage sale (where else?) for a whopping price of $2 and had Nathaniel put the hooks on for me. I have some of my antique aprons hanging there, as well as an antique sifter and grater (both of which came from a garage sale as well...who can go wrong for 25 cents!)

One prayer request for you all...I have my yearly routine doctor's visit in a couple of weeks. The Lord has blessed me beyond words over the last six years with the words "Cancer-Free". Please pray that this visit goes equally as well, and that I get yet another joyous visit concluding with with a clean bill of health!

Once things are a bit more settled, I will post some more pictures. Until then, may the Lord heap His bountiful blessings on you and yours! Amen.

A Must-Read

Thursday, July 17, 2008

Please go on over to Rocks-In-My-Dryer and read her latest "What I want you to know" post. It was written by Molly Piper, mother of a stillborn daughter, Felicity. It is written beautifully.

I identified with her post on so many levels. As I read, I kept saying, "Yes! Yes!" Who knows, maybe in the coming days I will be able to respond to some of the things she says...but for now, I am going to continue to think about it.

Please read here, and let me know what you think!

July already?

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was looking forward the the summertime and having the kids home from MDO. Now, summer is more than half over for us, as Natalie starts Kindergarten in about 6 weeks! My baby girl is growing into a young girl, ready to learn.

So much has happened over the last few weeks, and the craziness continues. We are in our new home, but not settled yet. Life is still going on so we unpack when we can, and try not to sweat the small stuff. It is frustrating to still be searching for things, not knowing exactly which box they might be in. Slowly but surely, right? We love the new house and are making it more our own each day. Hopefully soon I will find myself in a place where I will be comfortable having others over to see the new home, but I must put my personal touch on it first :)

We endured the 100+ weather on the Jones Family camping trip. We spent three days with Nathaniel's family, camping and such, and there was absolutely NO BREEZE! That make the 102 degrees feel even hotter, especially inside the tents. We survived, and are back home where we can sleep comfortably, and without the swarms of flies who found us each meal time. YUK!

Natalie has also had swim lessons, and next week she will attend art camp. I thought it would be fun for her to be able to spend a week painting and making art...expanding her right brain creativity!

Natalie and Levi were once again in the July 4th parade just outside of town. Last year, Natalie placed first on her tricycle, but this year, Levi was old enough to participate too! Dressed in their adorable matching outfits, Natalie pulled Levi in the wagon...they were too cute! This year, they placed second...we were proud, but Natalie made it very clear that it was Levi's fault she did not win first place again! Crazy girl! Pictures coming soon!

VBS was a success, with numbers around 250 each night. Soon I will post pics and you will be able to see for yourselves that there is nothing we won't do to help our children to love Jesus! Enough said!

This week has been a little out of the ordinary for us. My dear friend T has a 7 year old son in the hospital. She and I are hoping that we will be in-laws someday, as Natalie and "K" are such fun and super cute when they are together! Anyway, in an effort to relieve some of her stress and give the rest of her family some much deserved rest, I have taken the night shift at the hospital with her a couple of nights. The first night, I slept on a bed that is sure to be exactly like the beds they have in hell, so as "T" said, "Get right church!" The word uncomfortable doesn't even begin to adequately describe that 'bed'. But I was there, and honestly, we weren't sleeping much that night anyway...maybe 2 1/2 hours at most. "K" is doing better, and we can see that little personality coming back loud and clear! Can't wait to get them home and enjoying summer once again!

Whew...I am sure there is more but my brain is tired from thinking today. I will leave you with a picture of what happens when you leave your children 'painting' unsupervised for 30 seconds.

What would be a good caption for this photo? Come on, give me your best ideas!
