DC Belt and braces

Lythan picked a fun dare for the Daring Cardmaker’s:

Belt and Braces

in the UK it is 31 years today since seat belts were made compulsory and to celebrate I thought it would be nice to belt up on a card as well!

Lythan challenged us to use belts, braces, knots etc. on our cards and I instantly remembered the “knot exam” we had to take before one of our class trips. We went sailing in the Ijsselmeer for a week.

Gürtel und Hosenträger

Heute vor 31 wurde es in England Pflicht, sich im Auto anzuschnallen. Um das zu feiern, möchten wir Gürtel, Hosenträger, Seile und Knoten auf euren Karten sehen.

Ich musste an meine „Knotenprüfung“ in der Schule denken. Die mussten wir ablegen, bevor wir als Klasse eine Woche durch das Ijsselmeer gesegelt sind.

DC Earn your stripes

It’s Friday again. And as always we welcome you to a fabulous weekend with our Daring Cardmakers challenge.

earn your stripes?

My topic is very simple.

Make a card with stripes on it. It's completely up to you what kind of technique you choose, anything you can think of just show us some stripes!

Instead of using striped paper I tried to create stripes by cutting stripes from various papers. It looks more like a wedding than a birthday card … I might need another one for a friend’s birthday tomorrow.

Juhuuu, es ist Wochenende. Und wie jeden Freitag leiten wir das Wochenende mit einer Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers ein. Diese Woche möchten wir STREIFEN auf euren Karten sehen. Egal, ob ihr gestreiftes Papier verwendet, eure Streifen selbst bastelt oder gestreifte Tiere, Gegenstände etc. auf euren Karten zu sehen sind.

Meine Geburtstagskarte sieht leider ein bisschen arg nach Hochzeitskarte aus. Vielleicht komme ich dazu für den Geburtstag einer Freundin morgen noch eine andere zu basteln.

DC I'll drink to that

Wow, another week has gone by ... so here's the new Daring Cardmaker's challenge picked by our lovely blog fairy Kathy:

"What's Your Tipple?"
or alternatively, "I'll Drink to That!"

is all about the things we like to drink; Tea, Coffee, Wine, Beer, Drinking Chocolate.....and the bottles, cups, glasses and mugs we use for them too

I love my cappuccinos, but at this time of year it's often a big mug of thick, rich, hot chocolate that hits the spot. I like to heat the milk using the steamer bit of my cappuccino machine so I can top the mug off with some milky froth... mmmm I think I'll go and make one NOW!

And here are my sparkling wine glasses to celebrate the beginning of a glorious year and lots of good news.

Crafty resolutions 2014

By the way, here are my crafty resolutions for 2014:

- I will blog as comfortable and time-effective as possible (this means that I won’t list the used material any longer … just contact me, if you have any questions regarding my cards/crafts)

- I won’t buy any new craft material this year (except glue and cardstock for card bases)! I have so many beautiful things in my craft cupboard … and some are still unused! (I think my friends already bet, how long I can resist the temptation)

Ah, hier sind übrigens meine basteligen Vorsätze für 2014:

- Ich blogge so, wie es für mich am bequemsten und zeiteffektivsten ist (das heißt ich lasse die Materialauflistung weg … falls jemand Fragen zu einem verwendeten Produkt hat, müsst ihr euch einfach bei mir melden und bekommt ruckzuck ein paar Infos dazu)

- Ich kaufe keine neuen Bastelsachen dieses Jahr (Kleber und Karton für Kartenrohlinge ausgenommen)! Ich habe so viel in meinem Bastelschrank … und manches davon habe ich noch nie benutzt! (ich glaube meine Freunde schließen schon Wetten ab, wie lange ich durchhalte …)

DC January Colour Challenge

Wohoo, here’s the start of a new year full of (hopefully) inspiring challenges. Nat picked the first dare in 2014 for the Daring Cardmakers:

This week sees the return of our ever-popular monthly colour dare. It's my turn to choose our palette for the week, and I couldn't resist this lovely mix of shades - perfect for cooler tones, but also bright shades to lighten up these grey January days.
