DC Box Cards

It’s Friday again and here come’s the new Daring Cardmakers' challenge.

It's Dawn here with this weeks challenge. I have totally become addicted to Pinterest and whilst browsing through all the lovely craft projects I came across box cards. Its a box that folds flat like a card but pops up like a box. You can then fill them with whatever embellishments you like.

So this weeks challenge is all about

BOX CARDS

I made a box card ages ago … but I got hooked again. Box cards are easy to make and look amazing (and super complicated ;-)).

And the best thing: They even fit in a regular sized envelope!

Ich hatte sehr viel Spaß mit dieser Box/Karte. Es ist gar nicht sooooo kompliziert, wie es aussieht, und macht ordentlich Eindruck ;-). Perfekt!

Und das Beste: Die Box passt zusammen geklappt in einen regulären Umschlag – reguläres Porto! (aber nein, ich bin keine Schwäbin …)

DC Paint the rainbow

Wohoooo… it’s Friday. And the Daring Cardmakers have a very cheerful dare for you.

It’s a bit dismal in Devon at the moment so this week’s dare is really brightening me up. I would like you to make a card featuring

a rainbow or using rainbow colours

- you don't have to use them all but they do need to be in the right order!

First I made a card using a few colours of the rainbow in the right order … but it wasn’t enough rainbow for me ;-).

Juhuuu, es ist wieder Freitag. Und die Daring Cardmakers haben eine fröhlich-bunte Herausforderung für euch.

Wir möchten Regenbogenfarben sehen. Es muss kein kompletter Regenbogen sein, aber die Regenbogenfarben sollten in der „richtigen Reihenfolge“ sein.

DC Triskaidekaphobia

Ahhh… Friday 13^th turned out to be a lot more chaotic than usual Fridays. So I really needed this extra luck ;-)

Here comes the current Daring Cardmakers' challenge.

Today it’s Friday 13^th and some of us might feel a little triskaidekaphobic about it which is why I decided that my challenge needs to be

good luck

– just for that little extra bit that might be needed…

Extra (virtual) brownie points for anyone who shows signs of good luck-superstitiousness, e.g. lucky clover, horseshoes, chimney sweeps… what else can you think of?

I used a “good luck” stamp from SU. The fly agaric is a lucky symbol in Germany (due to it’s intoxicating effect).

Da gestern Freitag der 13. War, wünscht sich Svenja von den Daring Cardmakers ein bisschen Glück von uns allen für uns alle.

Gestaltet eine „Viel Glück“ Karte. Es gibt virtuelle Zusatzpunkte, wenn ihr auch noch ein Glückssymbol unterbringt.

Ich habe den Fliegenpilzstempel gewählt … und ein bisschen recherchiert. Laut den bekanntesten Internetquellen ist der Fliegenpilz wegen seiner berauschenden Wirkung zum Glücksbringer geworden. Krieger, die früher ein wenig Fliegenpilz zu sich genommen haben, waren meist erfolgreicher im Kampf und haben oftmals den Sieg davon getragen.

Von der berauschenden Wirkung des Fliegenpilzes konnte man sich übrigens auch im letzten „Tatort“ ein Bild machen. Schaut doch einfach mal hier, wie Thiels Vater auf Fliegenpilz so drauf ist … lohnt sich, finde ich ;-).(Das Video ist bis zum 07.06.2016 in der Mediathek verfügbar)

DC May Elemental Inspiration

Hello May, I’ve been waiting for you. Here comes the first Daring Cardmakers' dare for this month.

It’s Kathy here this time, and because it’s the first Friday of the month we have our usual "Elemental Inspiration" challenge for you

All you have to do is pick three elements (if you use the colour palette it counts as one element) which inspire you and use them on your card.

I was inspired by the bike, leaves, the basket and wood (but it’s hard to see that the flowers are actually wooden).

Hallo Mai, ich habe dich bereits sehnsüchtig erwartet … jetzt kommt hoffentlich die Sonne und Leichtigkeit zurück …

Wie immer gibt es am ersten Freitag des Monats bei den Daring Cardmakers ein Bild, von dem ihr euch inspirieren lassen sollt. Wählt drei Elemente aus und verwendet sie auf eurem Kärtchen.

Neu im Mai: Handschrift einsetzen

Im April war ich mit Freundinnen auf der Stempelmesse und wie immer gab es 1000 Stempel, die ich wunderschön fand … und viele davon waren einfach zauberhafte Sprüche in wunderschönen Handschriften.

Aber erstens kann ich mir nicht jeden Stempel kaufen, den ich möchte. Und zweitens sind manche Sprüche/Motive etc. so speziell, dass sich eine Anschaffung für ein zwei Kärtchen einfach nicht lohnen würde.

Deswegen habe ich beschlossen mich öfter zu trauen meine Handschrift zu nutzen:

1. Ich kann jeden Spruch/Gruß schreiben, den ich möchte.

2. Die Karte wird noch persönlicher.

3. Kann ich mit der Farbe schreiben, die zur Karte passt und auch Glitzerstifte etc. verwenden (womit ich allerdings noch nicht wirklich experimentiert habe).

Hier ein paar Beispiele. Ich bleibe dran und probiere weiter aus. Traut auch doch auch mal?!

After seeing so many beautiful sentiment stamps on the stamp fair I wanted to have them all. But on the one hand I didn’t have enough money with me … and on the other hand I realized that some of the stamps are quite “special” and can’t be used on different occasions.

So I decided to use more handwriting on cards.

1. I can write everything I want (in any language I need).

2. The card will be even more personal.

3. I can write with a coloured pen or a glitter pen so that it matches the card.
