DC starry skies

Hello, Friday! Advent time is appraoching and the Daring Cardmakers have some more winter/Christmas cards for you.

This week we're back to making cards and the theme is
Starry Skies

Take your inspiration from the night sky when you make your cards this time.
One star or a whole galaxy of them....or maybe a glimpse of Santa's Sleigh flying by....or a Heavenly Host of angels.
Remember, it doesn't have to be Christmas - there's a whole galaxy of possibilities out there.....

I used my distress oxide inks to create a blended background and put the little fox on a snowy ground.

Hallo, es ist Freitag! Und die Adventszeit rückt immer schneller immer näher … und die Daring Cardmakers haben diese Woche mal wieder ein paar Inspirationen für Winter- und Weihnachtskarten für euch.

Ich habe den Winterhimmel mit meinen distress oxide inks gemacht und einen kleinen Fuchs in eine Schneelandschaft gesetzt.

DC gift decoration

Hello, everybody! Let’s get crafty with the Daring Cardmakers this weekend.

This week, it's time to take our first "Step Away from the Cards" for this Christmas season. Most of our team don't just make cards, and its fun to share some other crafty makes with you. Of course we also ask you to join in and share some of your other creations with us.

The theme for the first "Step Away From the Cards" challenge is:

Tags, Labels and Toppers

We'd just love to see the tags etc that you'll be adding to your gifts to show who they are for and from! It doesn't have to be Christmas-themed, we give gifts for lots of reasons and they all look nicer with a bit of extra decoration!

I made a very simple gift tag. It’s perfect to use up some paper scraps and pre coloured stamped images … and I also used my own handwriting for the sentiment. (I still try to practice handlettering regularly – and I’m always looking for handlettering ideas and occasions).

DC winter foliage

Unfortunately I missed last week’s challenge … but the Daring Cardmakers already started with our countdown to Christmas. Each week we have a holiday inspired topic although your project doesn’t have to be for Christmas. You could also make (winter) birthday cards etc.

This week it is about winter and Christmas foliage, flowers and plants.

I used the paper which has a cute poinsettia pattern and added some brown twigs as extra foliage.

Leider habe ich schon die erste Woche verpasst, aber bei den Daring Cardmakers hat der Endspurt Richtung Weihnachten schon begonnen. Es wird ab jetzt jede Woche eine besondere Herausforderung geben, die sich auf die kommenden Feiertage bezieht …

Allerdings dürft ihr unsere Vorlagen auch gerne für (Winter-)Geburtstagskarten statt Weihnachtskarten verwenden.

(Ich habe sowieso immer das Gefühl, dass wir in Deutschland nur eine Hand voll Weihnachtskarten brauchen, während manche der englischsprachigen Bastlerinnen das ganze Jahr über für Weihnachten vorarbeiten …).

Diese Woche geht es um Weihnachtspflanzen und Zweige. Dafür habe ich das Papier mit den Weihnachtssternen verwendet und ein paar extra Zweige ergänzt.
