BELLTOWN (A Live Original Sitcom Reading)
Written by The Established Shanda Leer
We are excited to present a reading of "BELLTOWN" and original script written by The Established Shanda Leer.
Wednesday April 1
at R&B Brewing in the Barrel Room
7pm-9pm
Tickets are very limted
Logline: Belltown's favorite queer bar is under new management and that doesn't sit well with longtime bar manager and one-day hopeful owner, Al. The bar staff and regulars have a front row seat to the brewing power struggle between Al and new owner, Garrett, in the place where everybody knows your shame.
Description: Belltown is a multi-cam sitcom that asks the question, "What if Cheers was really gay?" Inspired by the Boston bar comedy, and with healthy doses of The Golden Girls, Happy Endings, and The Nanny, Belltown's favourite queer bar with a terrible name, The Locker Room, welcomes you to pull up a chair and settle into a space we unfortunately see less and less of these days.
We Acknowledge that this show takes place on the unceded, occupied, ancestral and traditional lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
