The funeral has ended and the people who came to pay their last respects are gone. The final step – the closing of the Columbarium vault that holds the cinerary urn containing the cremated remains of the deceased loved one – is respectfully undertaken by a church deacon. It is the final acknowledgement of the close of one chapter of a life but is just a step in a continuum of change for the faithful.
