The Author

Hi, my name is Rachel Mok and welcome to Unravelling the World.

I have been blogging since I was a teenager, but became more serious about it in 2009. In all honesty, I am not very fluent speaker nor a great writer. I just enjoy writing and reflecting about things. My love for writing officially began when I was given an opportunity by T. Suzanne Eller to be a guest blogger on her website Real Teen Faith alongside with other Christian authors and youths. Since then, I wanted whatever I wrote to be a blessing and encouragement to others.

A little bit about me. I am in my early twenties and was born in the tropical country of Singapore. However, I have been residing in Brisbane, Australia for the past couple of years. Another key reason I blog is because I have family all over the world – Brazil, New Zealand, Singapore and Brisbane. Character wise, I have a bubbly personality that is easily tickled by jokes; I am child of God; a social worker in the making; a repentant drama-addict; and an ambitious dreamer. People normally describe me as “energetic”, “loud”, “mama”, “an amateur baker” and probably a “dramaholic”.

I am a Christ-follower, I am not ashamed of that! I have a deep passion for God, His people and the Great commission and hope to be a salt and light for God in everything I do. I am nowhere near perfect, just like any normal human being; I struggle and attempt to fight the world everyday with God on my side. My ministry revolves around children and young people. God has given me a heart to minister and see them grow in their walk with God.

My loves includes spending time with loved ones, taking a stroll along the riverside, being amongst youth and children, cuddling on the couch with a bunch of romantic comedy dvds, traveling, blogging and reading other blogs (especially parenting ones for some reason), cooking and baking. Most of my close friends know that the kitchen is my sacred place, its my own space of being creative and not be judged. I am a quality time kind of person, the best way to get to know me, is to spend time with me. I would love to travel and explore the world, I just need to start saving money for that, it is a costly hobby.

To conclude, I am a simple person but a radical Christian. I want to do great things for God in my lifetime! I want to live a life of legacy for the next generation. At the same time, one of my biggest dream is to be a mum and have a loving husband, that is not too much to ask for right?

I would also like to know my readers, so do drop me a comment for me to get to know you too or feel free to email me @ raachh[at]gmail[dot]com
