Hebrew male infants into the River Nile, He dealt well with them and gave them houses, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon, he/she will eventually be hardened in them, His promises will definitely be fulfilled regardless of the environment we find ourselves, his sons and grandsons, History of ancient Israel and Judah, holy one of israel, however, I am God, I will be with thee, if it be a son, spot they were in, the methods employed in oppressing them, the midwives replied that, The midwives were able to confront the wrath of the king because a higher and nobler fear possessed them, the more they increased and grew in strength and might, the more they multiplied and grew, the more they were oppressed, The opening verses of our text present us with an account of Jacob and his household after they had come to settle in Egypt, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we, the reasons for oppressing Israel, The reasons for the oppression of Israel were twofold, The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree, The Scripture records that, The Scripture says, The suffering of Israel in Egypt produced positive results, Their women were to deliver quickly and they were healthier than Egyptians, then ended up with making the midwives murderers, then peaceable, then she shall live, then ye shall kill him, There are people who claim that they are applying wisdom when they perpetrate all sorts of wickedness, there will be a departure from evil, Therefore, Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens, These are, these were men who allotted work, They feared the Israelites, they join also unto our enemies, They learnt that God is able to preserve His people in spite of difficulties and oppositions from men, They planned to keep them in perpetual slavery, they shall not overflow thee, they used to build treasure cities for Pharaoh, they wanted to prevent them from growing to a point where they could get freedom and leave Egypt, they wanted to stop them from multiplying and consequently weaken them, they were denied freedom in every area, They were forcefully engaged in brick making and burning which, they were used to cultivate and maintain farms without payments, This was a fulfilment of the promise to Abraham that He would multiply his seed exceedingly and make of him a great nation, This wisdom descendeth not from above, This wonderful increase was according to the promise made unto their fathers, thou shalt be burned, though the performance of God's promises is sometimes delayed, THREE, Three important elements are recognizable as we look at the oppression of Israel in Egypt, Through Israel's affliction in Egypt, through rigorous labor, TWO, Uncategorized, United States, VIGOROUS AND LIVELY, was with rigour, We also observe that the midwives disobeyed the order of Pharaoh, we have to obey God rather than men, we learn from the oppression of Israel not to oppress one another, We learn important lessons from this growth of Israel, we learnt that the growth and increase of God's people are not a product of favorable or unfavorable circumstances, We must shun the fear of man because it ensnares, We see the hand of God in all these events which resulted in the frustration of the plans of the Egyptians, What a great lesson for contemporary Christians, What are the four methods that the Egyptians employed to oppress Israel, What are the gains in obeying God as the midwives did, What are the positive outcomes of believer’s tribulations today, What can believers learn from the growth of the growth of the Israelites, What they called dealing wisely was wickedness in the sight of God, When are believers to obey or disobey those in the position of authority, When that failed, When the king commanded Shiphrah and Puah, When the king queried them, when there falleth out any war, When thou passest through the waters, when thou walkest through the fire, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, Whenever there is a genuine fear of God, Where their command or order conflicts with God's words, wherein they made them serve, which came into Egypt, which knew not Joseph, whipped and abused the Israelites, Why have ye done this thing, With the arrival of a new king which knew not Joseph,
