CUNY Callouts

Ibrahima Fall, City College ’25, is a junior majoring in civil engineering. When he immigrated from Senegal in 2019, he initially struggled with English. To overcome this challenge, he enrolled in City College in 2021 and began working a job in customer service. Over time, Ibrahima found academic and career success. He secured his first-ever internship through CUNY Career Launch, working with SRA Engineering and Architects. As a City College research fellow in 2022-23, he participated in a project focused on the effects of climate change on highway bridges.

Ibrahima has also managed to balance his coursework with other responsibilities. He is a student liaison for the college’s chapter of the Structural Engineers Association of New York and a member of the Institute of Responsible Citizenship, an organization that aims to provide Black male college students with career opportunities. This summer, Ibrahima will work as a structural engineering intern at Hardesty and Hanover, an infrastructure engineering firm.
