Halloween comes from “All Hallows Eve”. Something which is hallowed his holy. Therefore All Hallows means All Saints.
History/grammar lesson over.
We did have two little skellingtons ring our doorbell last night (their parents were lurking at the bottom of the driveway and they were sent on their way with a little chocolate).
Next year we might need to be a little more organised.
In the meantime, I’ve got this amazing hymn stuck in my head.
Well, hello, stranger.
Hello to you too.
You never know, I might even post again tomorrow as it’s the feast of All Souls.
Two days in a row! I don’t think the universe can handle that.
The hymn is lovely. Thank you for sharing.
We had about 40 children by last night (and assorted parents.) All good fun.
Tomorrow is All Souls Day?
