Woot, Finished NaNoWriMo! 50K!

This is the first NaNoWriMo I have finished since my last book, Lake Merrin. Lucky that this book is the next in the Journal of an Adventurer series. I am so excited to keep going. I still have at least 100k to go. I’m looking forward seeing where the journey of Lone Solo and his party, the Rejects takes me.
Here is a little summary of my next book:
Book 2 of Journal of an Adventurer.
Join Lone Solo and his party, The Rejects, where they try to discover what is happening on the frontier of the County of Merrin. Could there be an underlying reason for the mass destruction of farmland and livestock?

Review of Parts, Pieces and Aspects of a Frozen Mouse By AJ Mouse.

One thing I love about AJ Mouse’s novels was experiencing something that you don’t think is common, but it is surprising how her books have a connection to me/my life that spans beyond what we deem as normal.

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of her new book; Parts, Pieces and Aspects of a Frozen Mouse. It picks up from the first book, expanding from Alternatives to a Frozen Mouse. I love this series, and each work allows me to see in my mind’s eye of these ten beautiful people.

Again taking up the pen are Jade and Anne, but we had a bit more of an insight into the others. Peter’s survivor spirit, Ray’s dance parties, Jane’s calm and beautiful soul and Lucy’s understanding of passion and touch.

Miss Mouse gives us much warning when the rabbit-hole could be too profound for some, but I would suggest you read even with this advice to skip as you need to see and feel. Monsters are not hiding under the bed but in plain sight.

I adore this book and the series. My love of these ten people makes my heart sing. The honesty and compassion of this book brought me to tears, laughter, anger and joy.

This again has knocked another big-time fantasy author off my top ten #1 books. This is a must-read for anyone who wants to see the world behind that curtain people fear to open, that monster hides behind normality, and a mental disorder does not mean you are an odd duck.

Exceptional and insightful, 5 out of 5 stars!

You can pre-order at the links below, at her website: ajmouse.com or at Ocean Reeve Publishing: oceanreeve.com

P.S. Thank you for sharing your lives with me, Jade, Anne, Lucy, Peter, Neil, Zen, Jane, Nancy, Ray and of course Mouse.

My Feelings on Rose Montague’s Three J’Amigos

Just like to say I love these books! 5 out of 5 stars for the whole series!!!

Now to the nitty-gritty, these three books are an urban YA fantasy taking from many familiar themes of the supernatural world, like shifters, vampires, witches and fae. It is set in first person, each in the main character the books were named about. Starting with Jade, a policewoman with supernatural abilities to Jane who is a vampire and finally to Jill who is the Queen of Winter.

As I said before I love this trio of books, I don’t see them as individual books, but one novel split into three parts. I can see the necessariness of this as it would become confusing as you swap from one POV to another. Also, there are LGBTQ themes throughout the books as well, which heightened the enjoyment of it. It resonated with me as I see everyone who is free to love who they want, never minding their gender or sexual orientation. I am proud that my country has legalised same-sex marriage as well.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the novels as audiobooks. The narrator Caryn Kuhlman, her narration was top notched, as much as my love for Rose’s books, Ms Kuhlman brought it to a whole new level of immersion. I will always keep an eye out for her voice work as it was marvellous.

I picked up Miss Montague’s books as a promotional event called the 12 days of Bookmas, where indy authors and lovers of reading can come together to experience new and fantastic new worlds. I have known of Rose for some time now, and am amazed by her skill not only as an author but as a businesswoman as well. I will always support her endeavours to the best of my ability.

You can read my reviews on these links, Jade, Jane and Jill. Also, head to her Amazon author profile and check out all her books.

The Species Within by Kimberley Clark

I love this book, the characters were fantastic, the lore was terrific (I am a bit of a lore buff) and my all time favourite character is Kuron. Not to go into spoiler territory but at a certain point, I even fist pumped with excitement because Kuron did something. That doesn’t happen often when I read a book.

There are some sexy times in the book, but this never distracted me from the storyline. Even though the premise was straightforward, it showed how talented a storyteller Kimberley is as the story was marvellous and engaging as I read this in one sitting, which only my top 15 authors can do to me.

I would highly recommend this book!

Reviews for Briana: Knight

One thing I have noticed with Amazon is that your reviews are not pooled together, one could be on Amazon UK, another on Amazon Canada. The only one that is shown on the whole service is the old US of A’s Amazon. So I decided after my last marvellous free promotion I will pool my reviews into one blog.

On the 29th I will have my third part out, Ciro: Founder and also I will be part of a book launch as a guest author. The launch is for Brhi Stokes,  and her book is Caligation (here is a quick review I did on it, Review of Chapter One of Caligation)

You can pre-order her book, now from iTunes or Amazon.
Number3.png

There is my book, number 3 (it has dropped to 4 now) and that is another thing. Each Amazon site is separated from the others on how they rank. On this one, I am, ranked as third while on UK Amazon I am like rank 78. Not that I am complaining, it is just you don’t get a clear idea how you are going and where you should direct your marketing.

So these reviews will be coming from multiple sites.

Let us start with Goodreads!

Thoroughly enjoyed this short and thrilling mini journey, some dark and fantastic moments with great descriptive storytelling. The story pulls you in immediately with the intrigue about the perilous situation at hand.

This is the second book in Samuel Colbran’s Arcs short story serial. I enjoyed the characters and the Arcs world he hints at in his first book, Kayla: Genius. In Briana: Knight, the world is explained further, and Briana is introduced with her strong Arc of valour, courage, nobility and strength. Don’t think that makes her hold back though: this teen is ruthless! I’m looking forward to the rest of the series, especially Sam: Trickster.

Love the serial format, how the characters work off each other and the core story concept. Quick read, enjoyable, and looking forward to the next one. Powerful character, Briana is the epitome of inner strength when she doesn’t always think she is. Really well-balanced novella.
