The Male Room - Give Us A Giggle

Hello fellow crafty ones :o)  Time for another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next two weeks we want to see creations that give your men a giggle (funny projects).

I think Bugaboo has some funny digi stamps, so this is where I made my choice for an image.

I went with Gus Birthday - Recount.  Gotta love an old fart like him (I think I know some too...lol).  Men seem like they don't mind birthdays, but they do.  It's all about the numbers with men....39 and holding. I colored Gus with my water colorpencils and colorpencils.  The dp was some scrap I had.

I thought I would keep the funny theme going on in the inside too.  Both sentiments are from Unity Stamp Company.

I hope you got a giggle and will bring a giggle :o)

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

stamps used: Bugaboo - Gus Birthday-Recount, Unity-Age is Only A Number (this stamp is olny $1.79) & Party All Day
paper used: Scrap discount paper, Bazzill, paper from Hobby Lobby
die-cut used: MFT - Fishtail Flag Layer Stax
embellishment used: Recollections Cupcake Brads

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #28 - Scraplift This!

Hello crafty followers!  I'm hoping everyone had some family gatherings for Easter.  Family time is always much needed.
I hope you are all ready for a new challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  Scraplift This! is our new challenge for the next 2 weeks.  Don't let it scare you, just look at all the DT for inspiration to see how easy it can be.

We have 2 sponsors for this challenge and that also means 2 winners.

Fred, She Said winner will receive a $10 gift certificate!

Dr Digi's House of Stamps winner will receive 2 images of choice!

For this challenge you must lift 3 or more elements from Ms Cathy's layout.

I got to use Dr Digi image Dunderton Decorators Ltd to make a card for this challenge.  Some men or more handy than others, but I love this manly image.  Using my water colorpencils and regular colorpencils to color the image as usual.  So...what elements did a scraplift?  The circle outline, striped background, 3 tools instead of flowers, fancy border under the sentiment, brads for the bling.  The circle outline I did with a burlap.  If you make the circle too skinny, it can fall apart.  Make sure you make it wide enough that there is enough fiber to intertwine to hold it together.  On the top picture, you can see I put glossy 3D accent for the glasses.

My man's handy tools are die-cuts from MFT (My Favorite Things).  I bought some thin wood from SU years ago for die-cuts and love it for my tool handles.  The sentiment is from Unity.

Here's the inside of my card.  Hope to see you in the challenge!

thanks for looking and reading :o)

The Male Room - Man's Best Friend

Hello again!  It's time for another challenge at The Male Room.  We want to see manly projects that are fitting for the challenge title "Man's Best Friend".  It doesn't have to be an animal, maybe a cool drink, tools, car, etc.  There could be an endless of possibilities.

I went with the old standby of a lazy dog keeping his best friend's chair warm.  lol  We don't allow the dog on the furniture due to allergies, but he does keep our feet warm.  We just have to keep scratching his ears for him.

This cute image is from Just Inklined perfectly titled Best Seat in the House.  We know our dog sometimes sneaks on the chair when we are gone.  I'm sure he's keeping it warm for us.  I colored the image with my usual water colorpencils and regular colorpencils.

The checkered paper was a .25¢ discount paper. The sentiment is from Unity's Kit of the Month, January 2013.  Just a couple of cute tiny buttons to finish it off.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather!

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog-#27 Anything Goes

Hello crafty friends!!!  It's time for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next two weeks, it's Anything Goes!  Just remember you must have a stamp or digital image/sentiment on your project.

Once again, we have 2 wonderful sponsors for this challenge and that means 2 winners will be chosen.

Sweet Stamps will give the winner a $10 gift certificate for their store.

Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet will give the winner a $10 gift certificate for their store.

For this challenge I decided to make a card with this great image, Enu by artist Barbara Jenson at Stitchy Bear (just wanted to state, this is a Emu, but the title by the artist  is Enu when looking for this image).  I thought of SO many sentiments that would work great with this image.  Even a simple "Hello There" would be great!  The "for reals" from Unity....I just couldn't pass up.  I colored the image with my water and regular colorpencils.  Several circle die-cuts to layer the image and keep the dot theme going.  The circles around the image are stickers by Recollections that I had in my stash.  Some twine with a feather (that I've had since 1998-99) was added to the side panel.

Here is the inside.

The Male Room - Sci-Fi

Welcome to another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next two weeks, we want to see masculine Sci-fi projects.  Think about all the movies, books, comics, and tv shows that have been around for ages to get inspired.

I decided to go the space route.  There are SO many shows about outerspace, aliens, creatures, and other great ideas.

The digital image is from Just Ink Lined - Cosmo Nut.  I thought it was cute!  Of course it was colored with my favorite water and regular colorpencils.  I've had the space background dp for a long time now, like 6-7 years.  With a house full of boys, I figured I would use it sooner, but the right project is now.  I finally got to use my new die-cut from Spellbinders, it reminded me of the sun.  I've realize in the crafting world, things get bought and they sit for a long time before they get used...the sci-fi that could come from a crafting closet...haha.

The cute rocket brad is from Spare Parts and I recycled the ribbon from a gift bag.  The perfect sentiment is from Unity stamp set, Out of this World.

Here is the inside with another sentiment from Unity.

Another look of the outside.  I hope you are inspired to create a little sci-fi for your man.
