Haven’t written…

Haven’t blogged for awhile
and may not blog again.
Entering a new adventure and challenge called pancreatic cancer. All words pale in the mystery of it that sends me deeper into the Mystery of God. Blessings to all. You may yet see my words here again. Peace.

Power

zion-park-139012_1280

The power to move mountains
does not come from our words or deeds,
clever and efficacious as they may seem,
but rather from harmony with the Word of God
secretly spoken within us.
Therefore, while not neglecting
to act or speak, likewise do not neglect
to stop and listen.

Bondage

chains-19176_1280

It is difficult
to escape our bondage
if we do not know
we are bound.
It is difficult
to leave the desert
if we do not feel
the dryness in our bones.
It is difficult
to surrender to the Spirit
if we cling to the illusion
of a totally separate,
sufficient self.

Blest are those

Blest are those
who dare to trust
“through” and “in spite of”
for they shall
learn to fly.

The World’s Woundedness

red-wine-632841_1280

Love, compassion,
kindness, forgiveness—
let these be your companions
along the way, guiding you,
pruning you, blessing you,
ripening you until you can
pour yourself out lavishly
and freely into the chalice
of the world’s woundedness
and profound need.

Recipe for Wholeness

Recipe for Wholeness

To equal parts effort and surrender
add a generous dash of gratitude and praise.
Stir well and pour into a large baking dish
lined with time-tested selfless love.
Bake for the rest of your earthly life
while tasting and sharing often.

Equilibrium

balance-716342_1280

If you can find your equilibrium
in contradiction and not knowing,
you are close to a living awareness
of the unconditional love of God.
