Bees are necessary for life…be kind…

carpenter bees
are wonderful
big and chubby
they just hang in the air
with a guard always
outside the entrance
to their living quarters
they love wood
I hope some are still living
in my garage this summer
they were all over the place
they don’t attack
don’t sting
they are simply busy
and doing their own thing
no one should kill carpenter bees
they don’t bother anyone
and do a great job
pollinating flowers
they may bore a hole
in the wood on
or around your house
but it’s not a big deal
and they are kind
and lovely bees
it is not recommended
that they be harmed
so yay for that
anyway
I’ve had some live here
for years
but they aren’t like regular bees
who have a hive
they are solitary
and all kind of split up
to winter where they can
so that’s it
be nice to all bees
but watch for the
big beautiful carpenter bees
who help to make the world
more colorful
and healthy place

I put up a couple
of bee houses
in my yard
one of them
is by a flower bed
and then I thought
hmmm
if a lot of bees move in
they may not want me
around the flowers
when I water them
or deadhead
the plants
so far
no bees
have moved in
but
so it’s
wait
and
see
game
I have carpenter bees
in my garage
I like them
they’re really
big and fuzzy
they have a
sentry
or guard bee
out in front
all the time
I talk to him
or her
and they
don’t bother
anyone
at all
I just wish
I knew what they
were building

most water dishes and birdbaths are too deep and the bees drown. You have to put stones in the birdbaths, or dishes, so they can sit on them and not fall into the water.
