Men have burned women to death, calling them witches, so they could get their property and even now some people are afraid of witches instead of the men who burned them to death.
Witches…words
instead of teaching people
to be afraid of witches
don’t you think
people should have been taught
TO FEAR THE MEN WHO BURNED THEM ALIVE

I might look like
a 50’s woman to you
but you would be
incorrect
I’m much older than that
I’ve been a wife
I’ve been a mother
and I don’t need to do
those things again
ever
I mean
seriously
why would I
for the last
hundred and fifty years
I’ve been single
youthful
playful
clever
intelligent
attractive
charming
delightful
and I know how
to invest my money
I’ve been
and am
a lot of things
but I identify as
a Witch
because that’s
what I actually am

you can hear their voices
riding on the wind

is near
plans are in the making
hexes
and poppets
medicine bags
and spells
meeting places
the parting of the old
the welcoming of the new
the paper boats
that carry troubles away
the crystals
and healing
the Tarot
lighting the way
the rage
and anger
the reminder
that they didn’t
burn
them all
