is a tree that you don’t expect
to see all lit up
standing outside
but you turn a corner
and there it is
SURPRISE!

to make an impression
some of us like snug
wee places
we can fill with books
and cats
plants and chocolate
and there’s less cleaning
and company doesn’t mind
and cookies and cake
are always available
sometimes
a small gingerbread house
is just the right amount of space
