Banish all Claude models. For the love of God and all that is holy. I do not know what happened at that company. I just watched Sonnet 4.5 overwrite multiple app files when creating documentation. (It loves to make documentation).
This is just another epic blunder after a long line of 17 previous epic blunders I witnessed while testing it over the past couple of weeks.

UPDATE:
I think this actually might be an issue with GitHub Copilot for Xcode integration. I switched through a few more LLMs and they all exhibit an inability to accurately read file contents. A completely different LLM, for example, though one of my app files was nothing but markdown when I was starting at nothing but swift code.

It sounds like you’re running into serious issues with how Copilot (and certain LLMs) are interacting with your files, especially in Xcode. A few things to consider:

1. File context issues – Some integrations (like Xcode) may not always provide the LLM with the full or correct file context, which can lead to overwriting or misinterpreting content.

2. Testing in isolation – Try testing the same prompts in a simpler environment (like a plain Swift project in VS Code) to see if the issue persists. This can help isolate whether it’s the LLM or the Xcode integration.

3. Version updates – Make sure both Copilot and Xcode extensions are up to date. Sometimes these kinds of issues are fixed in newer releases.
