pandoc creating a custom-style even though I have a style in the refdoc.

Hello.
I followed this guide, and I have a reference document with the style "Title2", but when I render the Docx, it also creates a Title2 style as you can see below.

And if I try to click on the "Title2" that I created inside the rendered document, it does not work at all.
Am I missing something here? I just need it to use the custom style that I set.

I also tried different names and none worked.

I think the difference in icon, e.g.

versus

indicates your reference document has a paragraph style called Title2, but not a character style called Title2.

Using the span syntax:

[test]{custom-style="Title2"}

will apply a character style.

[Edited "text" style -> "character" style]

THANK YOU very much. It took me a minute to figure it out but I did it.

For anyone curious, I just added a new style and set the type to "Character", since there is no "text" style.
