Why is code folding enacted for Python but not Bash?

Description

I enabled code folding for Bash in Quarto (in RStudio) with the following block:

Now I have another doc built on top of that - it features both Python and Bash code. With the following block it code-folds the Python chunks but renders the Bash scripts as text - even though they've been called as 'executable':

How can I get both to display in html as folded code?

You can share a self-contained "working" (reproducible) Quarto document using the following syntax, i.e., using more backticks than you have in your document (usually four ````).

If you have multiple files (and if it is absolutely required to have multiple files), please share as a Git repository.

@ctdarwell What you're seeing is a bit annoying on our end. What's happening is that Jupyter is not actually executing your bash code cell, which you can verify by changing the content of the cell to touch will_not_be_there. Since Quarto doesn't currently fold code cells that are not executable, the bash cell isn't folded.

We should probably emit a warning in this case, but Jupyter kernels don't by default support the execution of multiple languages, and so we only pick the Python cell to execute.

@ctdarwell date: "`r Sys.Date()`" is R/knitr syntax, but you are using Jupyter. In Quarto, date: today, see https://quarto.org/docs/reference/dates.html. Quarto syntax will work no matter your engine.

OK Thanks for bearing with me - 'engine: knitr' seems to resolve it
