Support Anarchists Against Poverty N.Q. – Building Solidarity, Not Charity
We’re Anarchists Against Poverty North Queensland (AAP N.Q.) – a grassroots collective of workers, First Nations people, tenants, parents, students and community members standing together against poverty, racism and oppression.
For years, we’ve been out there doing the work that systems fail to do — mutual aid, advocacy, community care and collective empowerment.
What We Do
Mutual Aid & Daily Support:
We organise regular Community Care Days and provide daily emergency support — sharing food, clothes, hygiene supplies, and essentials with anyone doing it tough.
We also run free shops, offer homelessness support, and even mutual aid mowing for people who can’t afford basic maintenance but need a safe and dignified home environment.
No judgment, no bureaucracy, no means tests — just people helping people.
Advocacy & Direct Support:
We’ve supported locals facing eviction, homelessness, Centrelink cuts and police harassment — by showing up, supporting them publicly, and putting collective pressure where it’s needed most.
Together, we recently helped stop the eviction of a Traditional Owner, showing the power of solidarity in action.
Community Building:
From rallies against racism to local gatherings, we bring people together — First Nations and non-Indigenous, housed and unhoused, workers and unemployed — to stand united and build strength through community.
❤️ Why We Need Your Help
Everything we do is powered by collective care, volunteer energy, and donations from the community.
Funds raised will go directly to:
Supplying free food, toiletries, medical care, fuel, transport, help paying bills, paying rent, school supplies, school lunches, homelessness support for those in need and much more
Emergency support for people facing eviction or crisis
Equipment for mutual aid mowing and community care events
✊ We Don’t Do Charity — We Build Solidarity
We believe in mutual aid, not charity — because the systems that cause poverty won’t solve it. Our goal is to empower communities to take care of one another and fight back together.
Every dollar helps us keep showing up for people who are too often left behind.
If you can’t donate, please share this link, volunteer, or spread the word. Solidarity is our greatest strength.
