I Like Thursday #100

Not much to share this week.

I did get some of my July decor hung up on my cleaning day, Wednesday!

The first bowl pillow, finished,
a favorite Kathy Schmitz wall hanging,

Freedom and Liberty bowl fillers on the buffet

July patchabilities mini!

and the last 12  blue and white HST are on the design wall!

Our daughter's kitty is becoming accustomed to the house. He's feeling more relaxed. Instead of hiding in his "kennel".

DD is feeling a bit better, but still suffering from residual COVID symptoms.  Shortness of breath, heart racing, BP spikes.  It's disheartening.

I planted some flowers, but  Wednesday afternoon we had a hailstorm. Now they are not photo worthy!

So sad!

These were safe under the eaves,

so survived the wind and heavy rain that accompanied the hail!

To-Do Tuesday 6-28-22

I'm joining Linda at Texas Quilt Gal to share my meager to do list and what I hope to accomplish next week.   But let's see what was going on last week.

1. Quit and bind table topper in blue!

Mr. Busy is using this topper on the table beside his chair in our living room.

2. Sew blue and white half square triangles for Zig Zag row.

These are ready to be all sewn together.

3. Finish counted cross stitch items into bowl pillows. Partially done!

One is done. I have 2 more stitched that just need to be turned into tiny pillows!

4. Today is the first day of summer!….hang Summer wall quilt!

This next week, I’ll try to stay focused on.....

1. Sew blue/white HST into blocks, then a row!
2. Company is coming….get ready!
3. Put out 4th of July decor.
4. Decide OMG? TSC22?

Not a very ambitious list, but these days that’s all I can do. Baby steps!

RSC22 Some Blue

Only minimal blue sewing this month!

A blue wonder clip holder/ pin cushion waiting to be filled and gifted!

HSTs on the design wall waiting to be sewn into a Zig Zag row. There will be three more sets, they are awaiting trimming and pressing!

And a bluish table topper that is stripe-less!  Sorry, Joyful!

I’m linking up at ScrapHappy Saturday!

June Table Scraps Challenge!

It’s Blue, but not necessarily dark blue and bright blue! Sometimes it just has to be ok! Our June was not usual! It was a bit chaotic and left very little sewing time! My stash included an orphan block given to me by a friend! It’s blue!

I added borders, then backing and batting and practiced some stipple quilting! No stripes only a star!
I’ll do better next time! I hope!

'

It's in place on Mr Busy's table, but still needs a label. I'll get that done soon.

Mr Busy and the teenager from next door started on the low retaining wall at the edge of our property!

Summer is finally here so I changed out my stairway mini quilt!

To Do Tuesday. Back in the swing of things!

Good Morning! I’m linking up with Linda at Texas Quilt Gal to share a short list of what I’d like to accomplish this week. We have been away from home for 9 days in June. A long road trip . Yesterday Mr Busy had his last checkup following his late May cataract surgery. He got an “ all good” report! “ See you in a year!”  While we in the bigger retail area we looked for new living room chairs! Yikes I had sticker shock! One occasional chair was $1929.00 !  Most were $700!

Anyway back to my list!

1. Quit and bind table topper in blue!
2. Sew blue and white half square triangles for Zig Zag row.
3. Finish counted cross stitch items into bowl pillows.
4. Today is the first day of summer!….hang Summer wall quilt!

Finger crossed for time in the sewing room!

We are headed to the Rec Center this morning to walk in the pool! Looking forward to that!

Good Morning! I LIKE Thursday! #98

Thank you to all who emailed and checked up on me in my absence! Much appreciated!

It might actually be summertime in this part of the US. Yesterday was 73 and today it is predicted to be 84. It cools off at night here, so it is actually pleasant.

I am glad to be home. We had a 9 day road trip to Florida and back! Boy,  was it hot and humid there! I didn’t expect it to be different but had not been there this time of year.

Gratitude #1 was that our trip was safe and basically good. Our daughter is back home and will be living with us for the foreseeable future.

Gratitude #2.  The USPS actually held our mail and delivered the whole pile on the correct day.

Gratitude #3. Today I will do some slow stitching with friends.

No sewing was done. But maybe in the next week there will be a bit.
