God is in Your Corner!

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Life can sometimes feel like a heavyweight boxing match. No matter how many times you rise up from your stool to enter a new round, you’re pummeled by a barrage of punches and sent to the mat, only to get up again to continue to fight.

In those seasons where you find yourself contemplating your next move, wondering if God sees what you’re going through, take heart, He’s in your corner!

God is there to give you encouragement, direction, and the strength to continue!

There is no such thing as Coincidence

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

After Elisha had resurrected her son, he told her to go away because a famine was coming. When she returned to see the king, she walked in at the very moment that Elisha’s assistant Gehazi was telling the king how her son was raised from the dead.

That coincidence led the king to give the woman her land back. To God there is no such thing as coincidence.

Think about those moments in your life you thought were coincidence. Surely you can look back and see God at work. Something you thought was a coincidence was really a divine appointment God had scheduled for you.

What God Has Set in Motion…

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Goliath started each day with taunts and ended each day with taunts. As time went by, all that demoralizing and diminishing had an effect on the Israelites. They began to believe in spite of their best efforts, something undesirable was going to happen to them — their defeat.

You may be in a similar predicament. Maybe you are experiencing a season where you’ve been waiting for God to do something big. Just as things start to come together, suddenly they are jerked away. This roller coaster can chew away at your life, erode your sense of confidence, rob you of sleep, blind you, and steal your joy.

Humans are imperfect. There may be some outside forces causing delays. God’s purposes are for good and abundance in your life. He may allow for some obstacles to strengthen your faith to prepare you for greater things.

Don’t allow the giants in your life to rip away your resolve or leave you defeated. What God has set into motion will surely be accomplished!

God Fights for You!

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Elisha had been feeding the king information he’d received from God that allowed Israel to thwart every move of the Arameans. Finding this out, the Aramean king sent a small army to take Elisha’s life and his assistant was paralyzed with fear. Elisha asked God to show him they were in no danger.

Maybe you are experiencing something similar; you’ve been in the midst of a season where God has not yet answered your prayers, you fear you may be misunderstanding God’s plan. If you could only see the army fighting for you in the spiritual realm your fears would be immediately dispelled!

God fights for you!

God Has Made a Way!

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Trials can be giants in many respects. Not only do they pose an obstacle that must be overcome, they can leave you questioning your ability to discern, which can lead to questions regarding your own faith.

Some kind of giant may be standing before you; taunting you, harassing you, and insulting you.

The good news is that God has made a way for these giants to fall. It starts with believing that even though the giant you’re battling might be big, it’s not bigger than Jesus.

ALL Things

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Many Christians make the mistake of thinking God is not concerned with the minutia, the small things. As we read this verse, we’re asked to give ALL things over to God.

Yes, if you lose your keys as your running late for an appointment, He wants to know about it.

Small things add up. Over time, we can accumulate worries and concerns. They can weigh us down and lead to even greater stresses. GIVE THEM ALL TO GOD!

All Because We Do Not Carry…

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

The 1855 hymn by Joseph Scriven, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”:

O what peace we often forfeit — O what needless pain we bear — All because we do not carry — Everything to God in prayer.

I can’t overstate how important prayer is. Praying for ALL THINGS should be something every Christian does out of habit.

Jesus wants to be involved in every aspect of your life. Every important decision should be preceded by prayer to prevent undo burdens from falling upon your shoulders. For God’s will to be realized in your life, you have to ask for guidance and direction.

He will lift the valley floor, lower the mountain peeks, and make straight the crooked roads on your life!

Our “Living” Hope

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

There’s a lot going on in our world today, much of it is negative. You may also be experiencing trials that test your faith and worldview. All of this may leave you with feelings of despair and hopelessness.

But our hope does not center around the things of this world. Because of Jesus Christ, each of us has a “living” hope! The current chaos and trials we face will fade away, but our hope in Jesus never waivers and never fades!

Don’t Lose Heart!

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Elisha’s first attempt to resurrect this boy was unsuccessful. He got up, walked around, and tried again. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

How many times have you found yourself in Elisha’s position?

You are asking God to do something and know He can do it, but it doesn’t happen the first time you ask. It may take days, months, or even years. Don’t give up! Keep praying. Keep seeking God. He will answer your prayer in the way and time that is best for you. Don’t lose heart and keep praying.

All God Needs

DAILY VERSE

DEVOTION

Do you feel as if you’re running on empty; like your tank has been drained and all of your fuel has been spent shouldering trial after trial? Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest through the trees.

In this verse a widow has lost everything, all she has left is some olive oil. Elisha is able to multiply it and provide.

During those times when you feel overwhelmed and you’ve run out of options, remember that what you have is all God needs.
