Nothing is Too Hard

DAILY VERSE

“I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?”

Jeremiah 32:27

DEVOTION

The phrase “Fear Not” / “Do Not Be Afraid” appears 103 times in the Bible. We cannot forget that the God who created the universe has not left the building. He is with us, and He is in control. No problem is too big for Him to solve. No problem is outside of his capability to fix.

We will go through trials. But if we allow fear of the unknown to waiver our faith, who are we following?

Many pray and receive answers to their prayers, but then something really big happens, fear sets in, and their faith suddenly evaporates.

God hasn’t changed, ever. He created us out of love; He sent His Son to die for our sins out of love. Everything He does is out of love. Nothing catches Him off guard. Many of the situations we face, whether it’s health issues or circumstances beyond our control, simply require us to trust God.

The Cloud is Lifted

DAILY VERSE

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

Romans 5:1

DEVOTION

The original sin. We’re all born in its shadow.

But we’re also born into a time where Christ has already paid our debt. By believing in Him, that He died and rose again, we can be forgiven, the cloud can be lifted, and we can experience the peace of God.

I praise Him for that!

The Good Shepherd

DAILY VERSE

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.

John 10:11

DEVOTION

For a moment in time, God entered this world and endured it in human form. Subjected to the same temptations and trials we face, yet fully God and fully man, he remained sinless. Only a loving Father would do this for the people He created. He endured it all, including death on a cross, so that we may have the opportunity to believe and reside eternally with Him in heaven.

Amen.

He’s Here!

DAILY VERSE

“…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20

DEVOTION

As Jesus sent His disciples out into the world, He sent them with this promise. It holds true today.

No matter what you’re going through, He is with you! Right there in the midst of tears or your triumphs, He is present. So many people cry out, “God, where are you?” He’s there! We think of God being far off, but He’s not. He’s always with us. For every believer indwelt by the Holy Spirit, He is with you. Never doubt that!

Imagine the Faith

DAILY VERSE

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

Numbers 20:11

DEVOTION

Imagine the faith it takes to hammer a staff into a rock, fully believing that water will come out. Up until God spoke to Moses, he was just like any other man. But as God began to work through him, his faith and confidence increased.

“When stress screams, obedience whispers; let Him steady your spirit so you respond, not react.”

Humbly Speaking

DAILY VERSE

Be quick to listen, slow to speak.

James 1:19

DEVOTION

There is a time and place for everything. Being humble is a trait we could use more of.

Have you ever been in a meeting where someone was always dominating the conversation? Strong people don’t need to dominate the room; they anchor it. It’s a fragile ego that needs to be constantly fed.

Sometimes, being silent and only adding to the conversation when you have something to say that will add value to the conversation is the best thing you can do.

God’s Plan

DAILY VERSE

Let us run with endurance the race set before us.

Hebrews 12:1

DEVOTION

What has God set before you?

Many times, we miss what God has set before us. We get caught up in our own plans and desires. We look for a career that will either suit our needs, or we look for a career that’s shaped by the world. A job that feeds our ego.

God’s plan may be 180 degrees from what we want. But step into it, and you’ll be amazed!

Let Your ‘Yes’ Be ‘Yes’

DAILY VERSE

Let your ‘Yes’ be yes and your ‘No,’ no.
Matthew 5:37

DEVOTION

People look up to others with good character. Those who have a high level of integrity are people you can trust. The complete opposite is true of those who don’t.

There’s nothing that gets under my skin more than someone who commits to doing something over and over yet never follows through on it. People like that are untrustworthy. If you ask them to do something, chances are it won’t get done. If they promise something will be accomplished, chances are, it won’t be.

These people lack integrity. As believers, God holds us to a higher standard. We are called to be people of integrity and good character. Let your ‘Yes’ be yes and your ‘No,’ no.

The “Fringe” of His Robe

DAILY VERSE

But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy, like calves let out to pasture.

Malachi 4:2

DEVOTION

Many miss the deeper meaning of this passage. Though the people who lived during Jesus’ time were well aware of this verse. And thus, we see in Matthew 14:36 – “They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.”

The word “wings” in the original text translates to mean “fringes.” For 400 years, these words were passed down to the people of Israel.

Matthew 4:20-21 – “Just then, a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”

We serve Jesus, who can heal just by simply touching His robe. That touch is an outward showing of faith. Our faith expressed in this way can move mountains!

Not OF This World

DAILY VERSE

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Romans 12:2

DEVOTION

It’s very easy to get wrapped up in the world. We live in it. But as children of the Living God, we must be OF it. We must make the effort to allow God to give us eyes to see the world for what it is, our temporary home.

I had a dream last night that was frightening. I had committed a sin that left me far outside of God’s plan, and I was shocked I had let myself get to that point. Thankfully, I woke up! It was a dream, but it left me shaken.

God has a far better plan for us!
