Strengthening Indonesia’s Coffee Communities Starbucks has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture to strengthen the country’s coffee ecosystem and broaden our impact for farming communities. This builds on the work of our Farmer Support Center in North Sumatra, where for more than a decade we’ve provided training, resources, and millions of coffee seeds to help farmers thrive. Through the program we will work together to: - Donate 2 million high-quality Arabica seeds and seedlings - Train 200 agronomy trainers to champion sustainable practices - Deploy 20 sets of water-efficient coffee milling equipment - Pilot biological pest control in Aceh to protect crops naturally This collaboration reflects our promise to ensure the future of coffee for all and demonstrates the power of public-private partnerships to create lasting impact for farming communities and the coffee industry.
