Jesus tells a parable in Luke 18:9-14 through which he warns us that building a holy habitus can be spiritually disastrous for us if we’re not careful.
John 13 this week and Jesus’ demonstration of what divine authority looks like in action. How might we more deeply lodge this counter-cultural mindset within our lives? How might we stoop to conquer? Who might we seek to serve today?
We’re in Luke 14:7 and following, where Jesus speaks of a kingdom principle that all his disciples should follow – that of taking the lowest seat. It’s a powerful metaphor for the way of humility that leaves our justification in the hands of God.
