The Kingston hotel on highett st in richmond. Spent tonight in the massive beer garden in the back. so awesome. It’s really huge!!! So is the pub overall. The good menu but no burgers or steak sandwiches! Got the salmon but it was small :( the boys got parasols and they were yum about a 6 or 7!! Get there!!

every tuesday and wednesday they have $13 parmas and steaks.
my steak was delicious and good quality and actually cooked the way i requested. SHOCK HORROR! my medium rare came out.. MEDIUM RARE and jase’s rare came out rare. woo! also. the parmas were juicy and the toppings were good quality. the salad was fresh with tasty dressing and the chips were thick and heaps of sauce was a bonus too. DEFINITELY a pub to check out.

Ah the Railway!! They just started doing weekday food specials on Tuesdays (steaks) and Thursdays (pizza + pasta).
Tuesday night is steak night from 6pm. On offer is a 350g, marinated porterhouse steak served with a glass of the ‘08 Heathcote Chandon Shiraz for $22. Omigod this was a massive massive bit of steak. I felt like I ate a whole cow. Plus with the feta and pumpkin it was SUPER filling. But very delicious. The chips were these cute little French fries J THE SHIRAZ WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! I loved it. All up, a great meal with a delicious steak. Also, came with a choice of mustards. Yum.
Thursday night is pizza and pasta night with a choice of wines or beers.

Wow, this place has had a crazy renovation!!! there are all these little alcoves. definitely not the place to go in a big group but great maybe for a first date or a little one-on-one time. and each room/area had a different vibe. there was this kind of retro/modern section which has a lot of white, then we were in this little dark blue room that was a bit echo-y. odd. but now to the food! :)
this place has lots of specials too. mondays is steak night, then wednesdays is burger and parma night. BOOYA!
we all ate steaks obviously. it sadly came with this limp little lettuce. and i didnt realise it was t-bone. t-bones are good for eating at home so u can really get into it :)

We went on a Monday (Locals Night- no you didn't have to prove it!)
For $12 they had soooo many options. Hot Pot, roast chicken, chicken parma, lamb curry, risotto, pizza and vegie pasta. BARGAIN!!! my roast chicken was delicious!! and but could have come with more vegies…. and my pumpkin was hard but i could have eaten like double the amount of chicken, it was so delicious and moist :P the hotpot was apparently delicious also. all the other serves looked great as well. MASSIVE. anyway. get your butt down there! v x
Last night we went to The Royston who do a $15 locals night where there is about 10 meals or so for $15. pretty great!! Meals included a bean goulash with homemade gnocci, three types of burgers (beef, chicken and vegie), steak, parma and salads.
If some of you remember we went here about two years ago and the experience was so-so. Last night was great!!! Its such a cosy pub nestled in an industrial part of richmond. its also across the road from the mountain goat brewry.
the pic above is of the wagyu beef burger which included grilled pancetta, cheese, red onion relish. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! theres only one pic because we ALL decided to get it. that way, no food envy :) OH, and the chips were awesome, so fat but crispy. and when we asked for tomato sauce, he brought us out tomoato sauce AND this really yummy and garlic-y aoli. (AT NO CHARGE!) points for goood customer service.
i definetely recommend this place and i will be going again soon.

went to the fox in collingwood. corner of wellington st and alexandra parade.
on sundays they have a special of roast plus either a dessert or entree soup for $20. pretty good!
the roast came with potatoes, peas, beans, broccolini, pumpkin and parsnip. i forgot to take a pic of the dessert! argh! typical…
i got a burger for $16. it was MAMMOTH! and delicious. it was made with smoked beef and you could really taste the flavour.

Town Hall Pub Richmond
G-girl and I went out for a $12 steak at Town Hall Pub on Bridge Road in Richmond on Monday.
A thin steak in comparison to the other steak nights in the area but it came with yummy mash and beans and brocolli. Definetely better presented then the others and I was still full. Dunno how boys would go with this one. Prolly a bit too on the thin side for them. But still yum! and the other steak nights are mainly on Tuesday and Wednesday. So come here if you need a protein fix on Mondays! :P
They also have a $10 burger night on Tuesdays

I’ve been to this pub twice in one week. Its been renovated recently and is a fantastic space. there are some big tables in booths for bigger groups that are awesome, and are raised a bit.
This place is at the corner of Lennox and Swan St Richmond. I went years ago for a friends bday but it has changed so much!
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays they offer $12 parmas and steaks for lunch and dinner. Both come with chips (that are so delicious and crispy and fat!) and salad. You can get beg instead of chips for $3 extra.
So this is the photo, but to be honest I forgot to take the picture until after we’d already tucked into the meal so its actually only about a two-thirds of the steak and two-thirds of the chips. I always forget to take the photo once the meal comes!
So i guess on wednesadys its $14 steaks at spreadeagle on bridge rd, which one is better?? We all agreed spreadeagle has better steaks (ours were a bit fatty/grissly) but richmond club had better chips!
So really. Both square i rekon!!

Went to the Spreadeagle last wed (4 Aug 2010) and had some of their steak. $14!! my advice: if u like medium rare- order it rare!! but seriously massive portion and the mushroom sauce is rad. get there. they also do a $15 roast on Tuesdays.
Aj and I went to Mt Views Locals Night last night!! All meals (except main) are $10 if you live in Richmond. Absolutely ridiculous!! I got my risotto for $10!! and it was sooo delicious. It was lamb with tandoori spice, peas and pumpkin. it was amazing.
AJ got his parma for $10 also. AGAIN RIDICULOUS! It was heaps yummy and massive.
We both really love this place.

So I live super dooper close to this place and have done so since Dec 08. Everytime I tell ppl where I live they say the same thing… Oh go to The Grand. Its great! And I always keep meaning to but FINALLY AJ AND I WENT! WOO!!!!

And all the rest of the days its the usual bar food in the bistro bit. Apparently the Dining Room is awesome too.
Anyway…. we went on Monday. I had the Roast Chicken with a panzanella salad (bread, tomatoes, beans, oil. mmmmm). It was sooooo yummy. However, as per usual, I forgot to take the photo. The salad was so yummy and fresh and the chicken had heaps of seasoning. So yum. AJ got the lamb roast with potatoes and fennel. It was really yum too. again… forgot to take a photo. HOWEVER. KK and AlMAX both got a parma which is DID get a photo of…. hahha.. Parma was yum too.

So we went on Sunday. The parma got a great rating, the steak was ok - big bit of fat and the gravy was so so, my roo burger was good, except the chilli jam tasted like fish sauce adn was a bit dry.
The toilets were fukn feral though. Gross. On a Sunday?
But otherwise we really had a great time. Really really like the feel of the joint!!!!
