Needing A Break

Daily writing prompt
Do you need a break? From what?

Short answer – yes. I suspect we all do.

Being retired I certainly don’t need a break from work or the stress issues that have been known to cause.

Social media and news seem forever negative and disappointing in this day and age. Not sure it was always that way, I don’t remember it being that way years ago. Now many platforms have become nothing but cesspools spouting dirt, lies, misinformation, disinformation and just about everything in between. So, I need a break from that.

Also, I need a break from those in control or in charge of governments just about anywhere who are about three floors short of a full elevator ride. This likely ties back to the first one.

It’s easy to say or perhaps it is easy to simply walk away from the news, from media and all that “stuff”, but it seems like that horse has already bolted from the barn and is virtually impossible to wrangle and get back into their stall. In reality, I think walking away is much harder to accomplish than it is to say.

But, today is a new today and it is shining bright with renewed hope. Hope provides faith that there will be positive change; that good is coming; that love and unity win out in the end; and that every problem has a solution.

Perhaps instead of a break, we need more hope.

Hope, trust, unity and love – that light that is in all of us will cast out darkness.

–as always with love–

— get outdoors; find inspiration; discover yourself —
