The ones presiding
Always riding
Along waves tiding
Mind deciding
Between thoughts colliding
Unsteady striding
Despite passion subsiding
Falsely priding
Whilst shamefully hiding
Casually avoiding
One’s self blindsiding
Snidely siding
These rulers deriding
Albeit providing
One’s attention undividing
Slowly sliding
Down paths dividing
Unwillingly residing
In societal backsliding
