External Cephalic Version...not as simple as we thought...

Well, folks...yesterday we went in to have an external cephalic version performed at the local Naval Hospital. This is where you are given a spinal (huge shot that numbs you from the chest down) and two doctors manhandle your belly in an attempt to turn your breech baby. Little Wyatt did not appreciate all of the pushing and pulling and unfortunately refused to turn. It was not a very pleasant experience for me, but I'll be fine...just a few days of soreness (which I can only liken to being beaten up).

Anyway, we are now scheduled for a c-section on July 11th. So that will be the day unless big boy decides that he'd like to come earlier...which is a possibility because as of yesterday I am dilated 1 centimeter and am having moderate contractions every 5 minutes or so. So we'll see...and we'll keep you all updated.

Update...

Well, we had another doctor's appointment this morning and little Wyatt is still sitting straight up and down with his little head pushing on my diaphragm. The doctor scheduled us for another ultrasound to recheck position on June 23rd and then for a version on the 24th. A version consists of two doctors pushing on my stomach and manually moving the little guy into a head down position. Hopefully Wyatt will take a nose dive some time in the next two weeks and Mommy won't have to go through that. But we'll definitely take anything before a c-section.

Other than our little guy being breech, everything is great. His growth is right on track and his heart rate is strong. So for the time being we're still waiting on our perfect, healthy baby to make his grand entrance. We'll keep you all posted on any further progress!
