Fingernails

Daddy told her that if she eats green peppers, her nails will grow and then she can get polish on them. She checked them after each and every bite of her dinner...

Thanksgiving and Christmas prep

Originally for Thanksgiving, we were planning to drive up to Whidbey Island, Washington to spend the holiday with Josh's brother and his family. A few days before we decided that might not be the best idea. We were still recovering from Disneyland and the Hornet Ball...not to mention that Josh's days at work had been long and Reagan had a cold. So we stayed home instead. I fixed a huge, traditional Thanksgiving dinner (we are just now cleaning up the leftovers) and we watched the Macy's parade. Pretty laid back holiday...just how I like them. The day after Thanksgiving, I forced Josh and the kids to accompany me to Hobby Lobby in Visalia. I thought I might find a few deals on "black Friday". We didn't find much but the kids did get to pick out a Christmas ornament. We came right home and began to get out all of the holiday decorations. We put the artificial tree in the family room and let the kids hang their new ornaments. They were so proud...
Still to come--real tree in the living room, wreath on the door, garland on the stairs and a few more lights.

Wyatt's Thanksgiving program

Wyatt's class put on a quick Thanksgiving program on the Monday before Thanksgiving. All of the mommies prepared food and we had a big feast afterward. Wyatt was an Indian again this year...doesn't surprise me. I'm not sure my Wyatt has the personality of a pilgrim.

Disneyland!

We finally did it...we finally took the kids to Disneyland! Josh and I planned it as a surprise for the kids, so they had no idea that's where we were going when we loaded up on November 8th and drove to Anaheim.  We did some shopping in LA that first day and then went straight to the hotel. The kids thought we were just having a fun weekend down south...little did they know we were really going to the happiest place on earth the very next day. Look at them--they had no idea...

Day one of our Disney adventure, we got up and hopped on the hotel shuttle bus to the park. Once we arrived, we clued the kids into where we were. We didn't get quite the reaction we were hoping for at first...but once in the park, Wyatt and Reagan were beside themselves with excitement.
I had made reservations for the character breakfast, so we headed straight for the Plaza Inn on Main Street.
Both of the kids loved seeing all of the characters...
UNTIL...
Reagan was completely and utterly terrified by Captain Hook. She practically jumped across the table to her daddy when that scary Hook came by. From that point on, Rea didn't want to take pictures with or be touched by the characters. She liked seeing them, but wanted no part of that...until the princesses (later).
After the breakfast we spent the rest of the morning exploring the park and riding rides. We headed back to the hotel for a nap and dinner before returning once more to watch Mickey's parade and the fireworks above Sleeping Beauty's castle. All-in-all, day one was a huge success. And did I mention that the whole place was already decorated for Christmas? So cool!
Day two of Disneyland started with breakfast at the hotel. Today was going to be THE day. The day that Mr. Wyatt finally got to meet Lightening McQueen. Everyone was excited. We also did the princess lunch at Ariel's Grotto and watched the World of Color that night.

I should also mention that Cars Land is AMAZING. I highly highly recommend getting out to California to see it! Day three was spent playing catch up. We let the kids each pick a couple of rides that they wanted to go on again. Then we had a lovely lunch at the Carnation Cafe on Main Street and headed home to Lemoore. It was such an incredibly vacation and I wish we could go once a month! To be able to see the joy on my children's faces when they met some of their favorite people is something I will never forget. It truly is the happiest place on Earth.
Before we left the park, though...the kids had to resuscitate their daddy...too much walking and too much spending.
