as a butterfly flits past
my study window
we pick the ripe peaches
before they are lost
and I wonder if
the cicada’s staccato
love song will survive
down on the flat
the river is running rough

An update this morning – not much in the way of wind or rain. The cyclone has definitely weakened, and is pretty much past us by now.
