I am so pleased that the talented, award-winning beautiful actress Morgan Fairchild purchased three of my wildflower paintings! I am honored to have these paintings in her collection! She also bought face masks, a tote bag, and a t-shirt with two of the paintings on them!
Among her many starring rolls on television are Search for Tomorrow, Dallas, Flamingo Road, Paper Dolls, and Falcon Crest. Morgan also takes a deep interest in foreign policy, politics, science & humor!
She is such a nice lady! I have enjoyed talking to her. The paintings are all below and, as always, wall art prints and prints on just about anything are available. Click on the link under the painting and all the possibilities are to the right!
I have included a link to a face mask for Afternoon Wildflowers above the painting.

I don’t have anything new from The Word Man so I thought I would leave up what I consider to be a very important message for Christians.
I like to have something funny here but I saw something on Facebook that I thought was such a good definition of Christianity that I thought I would put that here. Clyde and I are Christians and we would like to go back to church but not if the congregation will be at risk for this awful virus. This bishop said it all!
From the Bishop-elect of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Missouri, Deon K. Johnson:
“The work of the church is essential.
The work of caring for the lonely, the marginalized, and the oppressed is essential.
The work of speaking truth to power and seeking justice is essential.
The work of being a loving, liberating, and life giving presence in the world is essential.
The work of welcoming the stranger, the refugee and the undocumented is essential.
The work of reconciliation and healing and caring is essential.
The church does not need to “open” because the church never “closed”. We who make up the Body of Christ, the church, love God and our neighbors and ourselves so much that we will stay away from our buildings until it is safe. We are the church.”
I would greatly appreciate a Google review if you like my work! Here is the link!

I don’t have much to say today. I am glad that Virginia residents are complying with our governor’s guidelines in phase one of the re-opening of our state. Virginia beach people are following the guidelines which I don’t think is the case in some of the other beaches in the US. I have lived in Virginia my whole life and I am proud of people’s response to the restrictions and very glad our governor is a doctor!
I am so pleased with my latest wildflower painting! It came together and it may not be perfect but it is close! I learned something about the medium ,as always, and think I will apply what I learned to a new mountainscape or some other kind of landscape.

Wow, no rain today! The New river rose almost as high as a seven foot sign at the Dog Park! It has never been that high before. What a flood!
It is great to see the sunshine today and my guys were able to take walks. I will get out, too.
I could not be more pleased with my latest wildflower painting! I know I have said this before but it bears repeating. As I told my students when they were discouraged, you will never get exactly what you want, but if you work hard you can get close. It would be boring if an artist did not have something to work towards.
Well, this one is so close! I will be fine tuning it but it really is what I wanted and, as usual, I am not certain how I got there but I balanced between control and accident, and they came together beautifully!
I will have it in my portfolio soon. Please check out my videos above and the Safe Grocery Shopping video if you haven’t seen them and have a great day! Also, I have included a face mask link for Yin Yang Flow. What a wild face mask that would be!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler
As I have mentioned many times, Clyde incessantly studies wildlife with an emphasis on birds. Due to the torrential rain we had for days he couldn’t get out to the New River or the creeks for days.
Then he couldn’t even check out the bird populations in the back yard so he studied what he could from the carport.
I had to tease him.
I never thought I would see the day that you are porched. Rain doesn’t stop you but seven feet high floods from the New River has benched you big time.
Yeah. I am a dedicated naturalist but I am not about to drown for my studies.
Right. That is taking it too far.
Today he had a break but it is clouding up big time once again.

Not my favorite day but they are all good in some ways. Didn’t get to paint this morning and now the light is not right and I have been having a very hard time with a huge blood blister on the under side of my tongue that started on Saturday. It popped the next day but has been so sore I have had a hard time talking and eating. I finally gave in today and took some advil.
I don’t like to take medication of any kind but if I have a hard time eating, then I am very unhappy. I eat something every few hours. I have first and second breakfast just like a hobbit so strong pain when eating had to go!
Anyway I am having a great time with another wildflower painting and looking forward to working on it tomorrow. It took a bad turn yesterday but now it is back on track. I’ll bet that makes a lot of sense. To think there are some people that don’t think artists are crazy. LOL!

I am really getting into wildflowers right now and looking forward to tomorrow when I can get to the second stage of my latest one! The one in the video is of wildflowers in beautiful Wildwood Park, Radford, Va.
My latest one is not a specific place, it is based on wildflower fields I have seen with my own improvisation. I truly understand what Edward Hopper said one time, “I am best when I improvise.” Artists build up so many images in their minds and it is great when they come out on canvas.
Sometimes I like to stick closely to what I see and other times I like to elaborate on what I see and sometimes there are no recognizable shapes – music without words.
Anyway, lots of computer work to do so I better get busy. Again, I have included a link to a painting on face masks!
Cheers and please view my video and the doctor’s video if you haven’t seen them yet.

Clyde is on our church council and they are having Zoom meetings online about possibly having services again. People will be required to wear masks and maintain a safe distance.
It is a small congregation so that should not be a problem. Clyde told me about their thoughts on the matter after the meeting was over.
Well, I guess we can’t have coffee and snacks after the service.
Uh oh. That’s the end of the church.
Ha ha. I think we can manage a service without coffee afterwards.
You never know. LOL!

What a beautiful Mother’s Day! My son bought me a box of candy. Gee, I wonder how he thought of that for a present? Could it be that I always have a bag of Russel Stovers pecan delights on the top of my fridge? Or could it be I am never out of fun size peanut M & M’s?
He probably noticed over the years that I sort of have a sweet tooth. What an understatement! I will never forget one time when he was a toddler and I sat down for a second to inhale a fun size snickers bar. He stood right in front of me and proudly grabbed the paper and put in the trash can.
Anyway, I hope all the mothers out there have a great day! The sun is shining here. I am selling some face masks so I have again included a link for Winding Magenta.

What a dramatic change in weather! So glad I was able to get the groceries before it starts raining. Winter weather tonight! Yikes! I will be glad to see some warm weather soon. I can’t go to the beach but it will be nice to get out and walk with Clyde in the park.
I am real pleased to sell a number of prints to a great California patron! This time two face masks, a t-shirt, and a tote bag was purchased! The patron that purchased these items recently purchased Wildwood Beauty. Great to sell an original and household prints to the same patron!
I have included a face mask link to Wildwood Beauty above the painting. Don’t forget to check out my latest Youtube above and the Doctor’s guide to safe grocery shopping if you haven’t seen them!

We are having an awful time with our T.V. We have to use two remotes. One to turn it on and off and one to change channels. The provider that I switched to required an update box with new remotes and ever since then we have had trouble.
The remote for the T.V. in the living room is the one that is supposed to be used but it became very hard to change channels so we got one from another T.V. and it changes channels but does not turn it off and on.
I told Clyde I thought this T.V. was made in a laboratory in China.
Yes, and it escaped to torture us.
LOL!

Such a beautiful day! Lots of people outside having some fun. We took a great walk and plugged carpenter bee holes in our roof. The bees flew around and I don’t think I would like to hear what they had to say if they could talk.
They look just like bumblebees but they don’t sting, just cuss out people that mess up their homes. They prefer to make these hole homes in dead wood, so, of course, they like our roof over the trees. I guess they are just going to have to get used to homes with a little sap here and there.
So much to do on the internet. I had better get busy. Cheers!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler
My mother passed away over a year ago and I miss her very much. She and I had a lot in common. There were certain things she did that I didn’t think I would do but I think I am turning into my Mom. I have heard that happens a lot.
She froze everything and I have started doing that. I make desserts that Clyde can’t eat and I don’t want them to spoil before I finish them so I freeze half.
My Dad thought Mom over did the freezer thing. He would often say if he was ever missing, look in the freezer. Ha ha.
I told Clyde I thought I was turning into Mom.
Don’t buy a big freezer.
That’s probably a good idea. LOL!
