August 2008

So, I just finished an afghan for my friend Margaret’s birthday. I simply loved this pattern, but am wanting to create something different – not an afghan or scarf.  A customer in the yarn store told me that “back in the day”, when young ladies were learning how to knit, they all started with a sock because once you learned how to make all the elements of a sock, you can make anything.

Never thought of knitting socks. Would love to knit a sweater, but all the measuring intimidates me. I am more right-brained than left, and I hated math in school. Then I found a cool pattern for a cool knitted needles handbag on the Ravelry and Daily Knit Web sites – Click to download the free pattern: http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/patterns/archive/2007/09/21/knitting-needle-knitting-bag.aspx

Maybe my next project is all in the bag.
