Love Hearts

It’s time for a new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday, which for the next two weeks is All Loved Up.

Today I’m sharing a card featuring some beautiful heart shaped flowers (smile!).

For this card I used up some old crafting materials which included: for the background I created a masterboard by smooshing Festive Berries Distress Ink (which I spritzed with water), using an acrylic block onto a piece of mixed media paper and I then stamped some flowers over the top using Love Letter Memento Ink; I cut the mixed media paper to size and stuck it to a 5×7″ white card; I added the heart shaped flowers which was from a Penny Black sticker set; the wording was from a topper set and was stuck into place using double-sided tape; to finish I added a recycled red bow.

For more inspiration, please pop over to Try it on Tuesday to see the wonderful creations from our Guest Designer and the rest of my Design Teamies.

Me and my hubby are wishing you a very happy February; may it be all loved up (smile!).

Christmas Reindeer Tag

As it’s the first Friday of December, it’s time for a new challenge over at the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog, which is Anything Mixed Media Goes/ Optional Twist, something related to Christmas.

(Please be aware that next month, the design team will be on their end-of-year break, so there won’t be a challenge and that means we will be back in February 2026 with a new challenge).

I had so much fun creating this festive Christmas tag; I hope you like it too – sending you happy festive wishes (smile!).

The process and mixed media that I used to create my festive scene on this a chipboard tag were: I covered the tag with Tim Holtz Christmas Collage paper using Liquitex matte gel medium; when dry I coloured it using Distress Inks that I applied like watercolour; I added some check fabric washi tape by Tim Holtz to the bottom of the tag; I applied some Ranger Texture Paste using a palette knife through a Tim Holtz stencil to create the snowflakes; the deer was cut from mixed media paper using a Tim Holtz Thinlits Set and I coloured it using Distress Inks and a Faber-Castell marker; the “hidden among the snow-covered branches” wording was from a Tim Holtz Christmas sticker book; finally I splattered the whole tag using some white Liquitex acrylic Ink.

For more inspiration please check out the amazing creations from our Guest Designers and my fellow Design Team members over at Creative Artiste too. Here’s Verona Gate one, of only the two, entrances to Peschiera del Garda, which is a charming town located at the southern end of Lake Garda. It’s known for it’s UNESCO-listed Venetian walls and fortress, picturesque canals, and historical significance. The town offers a fabulous blend of history, natural beauty, and Italian charm, making it a popular destination for tourists.

Garda Orchid show is held every year in order to exhibit, market and educate about orchids.

The displays and market stalls were amazing, I’ve never seen so many different types, they were so beautiful!

It’s time for a new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday, which for the next two weeks is Children.

My fun and colourful Pooh Bear page fits the bill (smile!).

This was a simple make using: a piece of ink stained kitchen roll (recycled as it was from mopping up inks when creating other art journal pages) for the background; a Pooh Bear image that I tore from some birthday paper (that my sister had wrapped my present in a couple of years ago); and a couple of Kaisercraft word stickers that read “Be Happy” and “Grateful”.
