The town offers a fabulous blend of history, natural beauty, and Italian charm, making it a popular destination for tourists.

Garda Orchid show is held every year in order to exhibit, market and educate about orchids.

The displays and market stalls were amazing, I’ve never seen so many different types, they were so beautiful!

Secret Recipe

It’s time for a new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday, which for the next two weeks is Add Some Text.

I had fun adding text to my page by upcycling receipts from a pasta shop in Desenzano del Garda in Italy, where they sold the most amazing pasta (smile!).

Join me on a creative adventure as I share my recipe for creating a stunning art journal page inspired by a quaint pasta shop!

https://youtube.com/shorts/JJVSk-rYULo

In this art journal page tutorial, I’ll show you how to create an unique design by upcycling shop receipts as part of my background for this page and combining them with other materials to bring this fun piece of art to life (smile!).

The mixed media that I used to create this page includes Shop Receipts that I bought when I visited Lake Garda, Italy, Stamperia Paper Pad, UHU Stic, Liquitex matte gel medium, Spectrum Noir TriBlend marker, UniPin Fine Line Marker, Uniball gel pen and Tim Holtz Idea-ology sticker book.

The pasta shop was tucked away (can you see Pasta Fresca in red along the white door surround). It was just around the corner from where we stayed, and as we were in an apartment we couldn’t resist buying some for our dinner most days (smile!).

We enjoyed the fresh pasta, filled pasta and gnocchi (which is known as a type of pasta although it is more of a dumpling). My hubby loved the gnocchi and the owner kindly gave us the recipe.

So when we got home, we made the gnocchi (as shown here) following their recipe and it was so yummy!

As T Stands for Tuesday, why not join me for an Aperol and some nibbles, that we had as an aperitif to our pasta, at a bar that was on the same square as our apartment – wishing you all a very Happy T Day!

Whilst visiting family earlier this year, we went to Warnham Nature Reserve where we heard and saw the Great Tit (Parus major) birds, that are on my page, singing in the trees along the woodland path as we first entered the reserve.

Here’s what they sound like:
