Ninety-Nine Dragons (99D) started off as an idea by two classmates in high school, Bernadette and Sharee. Both are dedicated music fans. When the pair met in 2021, they realized they both had dreams and desires of going to the same art school to hopefully have a career in the music industry. Both came up with the idea of starting a music company together. Bernadette would go and get a business management degree. Sharee would go and get a degree in audio engineering.

In October 2023 the name Ninety-Nine Dragons was born, the name came from combining Bernadette’s favorite number 99 and Sharee’s favorite mythical creature which is a dragon.
