Say Their Name Day
Say Their Name Day
On 25 March, let's remember babies lost to pregnancy and baby loss In 2026, too many families still tell us that after their baby dies, the people around them don’t know what to say, so say nothing at all. Many parents never hear their baby’s name said aloud by anyone else again. So that's why, on 25 March, we’ll be launching the first Say Their Name Day in the UK. If you’ve experienced the loss of a baby, or someone close to you has, this is a chance to come together and share their name or memory – and support other families too.

Find your local Sands United team Sands United is a unique way for any man affected by pregnancy or baby loss to come together through a shared love of sport, and find a support network where they can feel at ease talking about their grief, when they're ready. We know that people can struggle to talk about how they're feeling after the death of a baby. This support network aims to put everyone at ease and understands that they will talk when they feel ready to do so.

Research we support
Research we support
Research is vital to understand why babies die and find new ways to prevent deaths. No one knows the true scale of pregnancy and baby loss in the UK. Unlike stillbirths and neonatal deaths, the number of miscarriages before 22 weeks is not measured or reported. But research into baby deaths accounts for just a small part of reproductive health and childbirth research, which in 2022, received only 2.4% of funding for health research in the UK.
